Tonight or tomorrow morning would be perfect to dump this guy. While the sports world is talking about the Bears draft, Pedro can exit stage left, and never be heard from again.

When they lose this Twins game, they need to make an announcement that his ass is mowed grass.

Right, but they need to field a major league roster.  They have a bunch of bad players, but don't really have that many no brainer DFA candidates.  Its the downside to signing to many shitty veterans.  No one is going to lose sleep over DFAing Lopez, or DeJong, or Grossman, or Pillar, etc., etc., but they also don't really have anyone in the upper minors to replace these guys either.

How the duck did we get here?

  3. Here is what I think this organization should do after the Sox probably get swept by Minnesota and shut out the rest of the series. If they do this, they would instantly gain my respect back:

    1-Fire Grifol

2-Hold a press conference, explain how much they fucked up, how this current play is absolutely unacceptable for the city of Chicago and the Sox fanbase, and apologize to the fans for the complete incompetence of the last decade-plus. Admit that this is a rebuild and they understand this season is shaping up to be historically bad season, and it's a wash. Stop trying to give us hope. Stop telling us it will get better. Stop...stop being the chicago white sox.

Will this happen? Of course not. Their heads are so far up their asses. But if by some miracle they did this, at least they would be taking the first step in the right direction. But they wouldn't know how to make the right decisions after admitting they suck anyway so I guess it doesn't really matter. They'll probably say "oh, it's a long season. Oh, need to forget about the last shutout, focus on the gameplan for today. Which is to get shut out again because that's the only result we ever get!"

Honestly I don't know what's worse. Them continuing to open their mouths and say stupid things, because they don't know how to not do that, or not say/do anything at all.

Jerry, how about you hire a consulting firm on how to actually run an organization?

The way the Sox talked about him before I ever saw him play I figured he was like a poor man's Altuve, or maybe even homeless man's version. Well, he's not even a poor man's Leury.

Among other things his sprint speed is pathetic for a guy that is supposed to be a potential middle infield utility guy. Not an athlete, not a baseball player, not anything at all really.

Remember when everyone hated Leury's guts? He'd be the all star on this god-forsaken baseball team 🤣

3-18. Shut out 7 times in first 19 games, most in123 years.  45 runs in 21 games.  2 or fewer runs in 14 games.  Last in all major offensive categories in MLB.   And having the chutzpah of promoting a new stadium.  What a major embarrassment this is.

Change is urgently needed.  As we can’t fire the whole team, start with firing Grifol, with Getz on deck.  Need to shake this tree.

    Where's the article

    6. Kevin Pillar, .167
    7. Lenyn Sosa, .132
    8. Braden Shewmake, .143
    9. Martín Maldonado, .053.

Obviously it's all bad, but Eloy and Benintendi is just beyond words. Those two with their contracts and talent need to produce. MLB needs to do something about these guaranteed contracts. MLBPA will never allow it but there is so much money being wasted on these guys who couldn't hit a fucking watermelon.

You don't produce? Your pay gets slashed in half. Do your job.

I would love to get paid millions to suck at what I do.

NO MORE REBUILDS.  They don’t work here.

Sox fans need to accept this.  There are two options going forward for this franchise

    1. “Rebuild” and continue acquiring prospects who bust and patiently waiting for that dynasty that will never come.  You all die at the end with nothing.

    2.  Do what they did from 1990-2014 and continue signing washed up boppers to supplement a meager farm and praying that something accidentally clicks. (And hope for a Frank Thomas…)

With option 2 we probably get nothing, but once every 10 years we might get a random playoff run and 2-3 years of 2nd place collapses.

With option 1 we get corpse ball and record breaking futility.

This is the truth. Under Jerry, these are our options. Unfortunately.

  8. I would love to be in the room hearing Jerry and Chris's conversations:

Jerry: "So hey Chris. I told them you'd be able to get us wins right away. WHAT THE f***."

Chris: "Just hang on. It's all part of the plan."

Jerry: "But we might be the worst team in the history of baseball."

    Chris: "These things take time."

Jerry: "You're right. f*** the fans. I'm moving the team to Alaska. We'll rename them The Eskimos."

    Chris: "I'll drink to that."

  9. At what point do we stop rooting for actual competitive players to be traded away for prospects that may or may not work out, and start actually rooting for winning baseball? Like I understand the rationale behind it, but we already did this once. Under the same ownership. It did not work. I guess people think this is the only hope this team has but, if Jerry didn't let it be successful the first time, why the hell would he let it be successful the second time?

Should have won both games. Pitching has not been that bad. If offense picks it up, they might win two in a row. Keep Sheets in the lineup.

If these guys could even be league average with hitting they probably would be at .500 with how decent the pitching has been, unfortunately they put out the worst offense ever assembled. I don't care how good your defense is, if you can't hit the fucking ball you're not going to score runs, and your product will not be interesting.

Playoffs are a crap shoot. All you can ask is that they put themselves in a position to make it and do damage. They did that for two seasons.

And we were promised multiple championships. This new rebuild happening under the same ownership group, what reason is there to believe we won't get similar results? Please show me why I should believe that these players will develop into what their potential says they will develop in to. What have the Sox done to improve in the area of developing young promising players?
