I really am feeling good about where the Sox are around the infield so far with Moncada, Anderson, and obviously Abreu... and as a very nice surprise what McCann has been offering behind the plate both offensively and the amazing job he is doing with Giolito, however, I am very much disappointed with the production with the outfield so far this year. Leury Garcia has been the most and really only productive player the Sox have in their shallow outfield thus far this year. I give much credit to Eloy Jimenez who is showing signs of brilliance, but has yet to truly live up to the hype. I was and still am very disappointed that Daniel Palka didn't work out, and while Adam Engel was so brilliant as a defender last year, just could not produce enough offense this year to keep him at the level, and an even bigger kick in the throat is Jon Jay who has not, or might not at all play a game this year. This is a major concern for me as a fan cause other than Louis Robert, who is still a bit away from being an impact player, the Sox outfield is not at all something that is going to be productive enough to win ballgames. I know this is a rebuild and these issues are going to present themselves, but this lack of depth in the outfield is worrying me more than the horrific pitching issues this team is already displaying.
