These guys literally predicted today Machado would sign with a team. Granted the Padres got a last minute change they weren't wrong. They weren't trolling. He says they are still in and now hearing red Sox are potentially in. You don't have to believe them, but they've broken stories for the pats too. He says top 3 suitors are Sox phillies nats/red Sox. 2 days max for a decision. Worth following even if they are trolling or faking because at this point nothing will sting more than today and losing to the padres

Pretty sure that Kenny was lying. Why would he openly tell the media that they will spend 300 million plus when there's other free agents aka Harper, who want 300 million plus? We know the Sox put a lot of effort into Harper. Sending thome to him, the presentation and we have heard they were in constant contact with him and his wife.

They didn't guarantee 300 mil, but the offer would've been a lot over 300 mil if Machado actually wanted to play for us. It's clear he chose the Padres because he didn't want to play for the Sox. Location probably had a lot to do with it and on top of that, he wanted 300 mil guaranteed.

Dude I totally agree with you. Harper was the original target. I've always felt that. Harper doesn't want to go to Philly. That's a big thing for him and his wife, where they live. At least in Chicago they can be with the Bryant's. I have a feeling we have quite a chance at getting Harper, more than most sox fans would think.

Could be a lie to throw off the other suitors. In reality anything is possible. But we know this orgs track history so you're most likely right.

I've heard nothing that the sox are in on Harper today. Just the giants and phillies. Here's to hoping the org grows a pair and finally does something. I've wanted Harper over Machado this whole time, and I've felt a weird gut feeling he would sign here. We will see, would definitely make the fanbase feel appreciated finally.

It doesnt hurt either way. IF nothing happens then it doesnt hurt. If something does finally happen then its over with. Win win...

This is my thought process. Let’s say the Sox locked up machado already and appealed to Harper that they could be a dynasty for the next 10 years if he signs. Just like the heat.

Here’s what I think: it’s possible Hahn and co made a pitch that the two biggest feee agents would be highest paid stars together and that appeals to both to be on a strong lineup together?? Guys I can’t do this anymore. I just want it to end

Hate to be that guy but that j Michael Robertson and mlbinsider already broke the news that San Diego met with machado and made a good push. Which is now coming out. All of the reports are stating they “met” so they weren’t exactly wrong. Just a thought

So let’s get a topic going - sox somehow manage to freeze hell over and sign both Harper and machado. What’s our outlook? Financially how do we look? Do we launch our team Into top 10 fandoms? I mean without being being negative and let’s be realistic here, we know we CAN sign both but what are the odds?

Also, the gov shutdown finally ended so we can stop asking what will come first. That or manny signing.

This will go into mid February at the latest I believe. I’ve stopped checking twitter and here so much because we won’t get much info until the new few weeks. Strap in boys and girls
