  1. I'm pretty pumped about it. Luis Robert has five home runs in 10 games and continues to build a case for AA. Read about his success, along with Advanced-A standouts Nick Madrigal, Codi Heuer and Alec Hansen here!
  2. News and Notes! Sox farm had lots of positives over the last 10 days. Read all about it here!
  3. I'll take this news to kick off the 2019-20 international signing season! We have all you need to know regarding the reported signing of 17-year-old Elijah Tatis.
  4. Winston-Salem kicks off a new season tonight (April 4)! Here is this year's preview of the White Sox' Advanced-A affiliate.
  5. Sup, friends! I took a trip to the Phoenix area last week and caught a handful of White Sox Spring Training games. I spent a lot of time on the backfields and got some video highlights of a handful of top prospects. Read the story and watch the videos here.
  6. Clinton Cole spoke with left-handed starter Bernardo Flores about his experience in Spring Training this year, as well as a reflection of his 2018 season with Winston-Salem and Birmingham. Late in the show, Chuck Garfien of NBC Sports Chicago jumps on to share everything Sox baseball. Lots to get to in this edition of the FutureSox Podcast.
  7. Why? Why did the White Sox do it? The depth in the minors is weak at the position outside of Seby Zavala, who seems to be the only legit Major League ready catching prospect in the system. I understand the Sox believe in Zack Collins, but there's no guarantee he translates defensively. Smith was a pretty productive offensive catcher and went from a minus pitch framer in 2016 to a guy with an above average clip (1.6 and 1.5 in '17 & '18, respectively, according to Baseball Prospectus). Going back to 2011, Smith spent his entire professional career in the White Sox system, meaning he has a relationship with so many prospects and arms like Rodon (minimal, but still parts of two seasons in the Bigs), Lopez, Giolito and more. Speaking of Giolito...it seemed the two developed a bit of chemistry last season that resulted in success. Giolito needs every strike he can get. James McCann is not the answer to steal any strikes for a wildcard like Giolito. I like Welly as one of the two everyday catchers, but James McCann? Really? That's the plan? Help me out here because I just can't get over the decision to DFA Smith.
  8. Evan Marshall is battling to earn a spot on the White Sox 25-man roster. It's a tough road, but Marshall is lucky to even have the opportunity. An injury that nearly proved to be fatal is reason enough for me to pull for the soon-to-be 29-year-old this spring.
  9. Major League clubs value depth and versatility. Jose Rondon can play everywhere on the infield, and will even try his luck in the outfield this spring. Our Ken Sawilchik laid out the road Rondon must travel if he hopes to crack the White Sox in late March. Who do you think wins the positional battle at the back-end of the Sox' 25-man?
  10. News and Notes is back! The Machado fallout, injury updates and notes from Sox spring training all included in this edition.
  11. Oh you better believe Santana is going to get some time this year. Only one season removed from 200+ innings! Minor league deal makes this low-risk, mild reward.
  12. Reports suggest Basabe will resume baseball activities 4-to-6 weeks post-surgery, followed by another 4-to-6 weeks of rehab before being deemed 100%. https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/white-soxs-luis-alexander-basabe-suffers-broken-hand/
  13. Is this some kind of sick joke? On the same day the Sox lost out on Manny Machado, the organization announced that Luis Alexander Basabe will miss time with an injured left hand. It may not be all bad, as a couple young arms are ready to go in 2019, while Jake Burger continues his rehab. What were your reactions following the Basabe injury?
  14. Rick Hahn spoke to the media Wednesday, February 13th, as pitchers and catchers reported to Spring Training. The Sox General Manager addressed Jake Burger's current status in his rehab. James Fox put together a piece to get us up to speed on Burger, while also noting the date in which the White Sox hope to see the 2017 11th overall pick back on the field.
