The fact that he is so unlikeable on a personal level makes it even worse.  I've been dreading days he pitches for a while now.

I'm not really sure where this is coming from.  I'm not a fan of his recent performances but everything I have heard from the clubhouse is that he is one of the leaders and has a played a huge part in helping the younger pitchers like Cease and Kopech.  Also, just from his interactions with the media, he'll be the first one to acknowledge that he's sucked and he'll be honest about it.  If people can cite examples of him being an asshole or something that would be great.  Because this is kind of the opposite impression of what I have gotten from him.

What the hell are the Sox waiting for, to get him out of the rotation?  Move him to BP pitcher. That what he is good for at this time.

He's not a bullpen pitcher though.  His numbers in the bullpen are awful.  I think I am fine with them running him out there in an attempt to eat innings and hopefully he maybe at least finds his form from earlier in this season.

He won't be on the ALDS roster though.

Dallas decline have anything to do with the fact that he can’t use his Vagisil any longer?

Problem is his command.  Until he can throw strikes more consistently, he's going to just keep getting lit up.

Earlier in the year when he was 6-1 and had a Sub 4 ERA, he was getting ahead of hitters consistently.  How many times have we seen him fall behind in these last 8 starts or even get ahead of a hitter only to just go deep into a count and give up a hit.

60 game schedule against Central division only teams. And he sucked ass when it counted in OIakland.

It was a bad signing from Go.

Cleveland and Minnesota were very good teams.  And he pitched well against them.

I'm by no means defending him.  Dude shouldn't be on the postseason roster. But he was also integral in them reaching the playoffs last year and to deny that is just kind of revisionist history.

Both things can be true.  He can have a shitty season this year and also still have pitched really well last year.

He's been shit since Houston sweep.

He had a great start against Seattle in his start after that.  And a great one against the Orioles.  Also pitched very well against the As.  And some of those losses were tough luck.  To be honest, the turning point was kind of the loss against the Royals in August where he actually pitched really well.

  6. Please don't turn to me as the expert on hamstring injuries just because of my injury this week....

Having said that, I can say that based on my experience dealing with them in Soccer, the fact that he could walk off on his own volition and thought he could stay in, likely means he's ok.  I think we collectively as White Sox fans after experiencing the dearly departed Madrigal's injury can now at least tell the difference.

That being said, since Lucas doesn't have a rec league soccer championship game anytime soon, IL him for a week.

Man I used to play in Chinatown, nothing like getting on that crowded ass D train from Brooklyn and then back.  Same field Manny Ramirez is said to have hit one onto the Manhattan Bridge.   Miss those days a bit now thinking about it.  NYC has such great energy.  Don't really get that feeling here.

I know exactly which one you are talking about.  I think we might be playing soccer near there in the fall.

no offense but I feel rec league soccer players never shut up about it.  Like I never hear beer league softball players going on and on online about their shit.

None taken.  I'm not on twitter.  🤪

Mine resulted from not doing propper stretching before hand.  Was rushed when I got there.  Also rec league soccer is pretty intense and physical.

  9. I still think he'll win it.  Basically, Cole's season has a lot of highs and lows.  I think at the end of the day, he likely gives up a ton of runs in one of his last starts.  Keep in mind, Cole will have to face Tampa twice.  Cole got shelled against them in his last start.  Lynn's has been a straight line.  Lynn just needs to get 30 more innings.  He averages 5-6 innings a start and he should get there still.  And if his ERA stays steady or declines a little bit, I think he's in good shape.  I just think traditional metrics kind of go out the window when it comes to Cy Young this year.

I'm not a Javy Baez fan; I know little about him since I stopped watching the Cubs even before Marquee. A player who does this is putting himself in a no-win situation especially when he and his team is not playing well. But perhaps wimpy fans should be able to take it if they dish it out. And the three most entitled fan bases are those with the Mets. Yankees and Red Sox.

He did a lot of great things in the community.  Including helping get large portions of the Chicago population vaccinated and also the stuff with his sister is heartbreaking.  I think he's likely a genuinely good person but as a baseball player, he's kind of a jackass.

Braves? Yeah, I don’t see it.

The Giants though…I’m done trying to make sense of it. They’ve sustained it for so long that I’m convinced they’re legit. Even if I still don’t get it.

Braves are sneaky but no.  I'm honestly kind of hard-pressed to think how on talent alone the Sox aren't considered favorites in the AL.
