Montoyo has experience at least, but I’m hoping it’s not him. Sizemore is just getting his feet wet in coaching. Can’t imagine he’d be considered.

Good point, Stephen Vogt comes to mind though.

Toronto supposedly wanted to hire KW, but that was blocked at the time by JR.

Mike North on Barstool Chicago's Mid Show two weeks ago said he doesn't believe this ever happened, FWIW

  3. I believe we are witnessing a Fisher-esque sabotage. This roster, this record, and these tax negotiations make me think this franchise is moving to Nashville. By making the White Sox nothing, Jerry can take something away from a group of people who have nothing to lose.

  4. I wasn’t excited a week ago but now I’m waiting for 2:05 on Friday. Something like a 13-13 start would do wonders for me. Might as well not be miserable about it all.

New faces like Barfield and Bannister inspire me. Looking into the past, it really is stunning that Hahn and Kenny failed to bring in outside voices, opinions, etc. This entire thing likely comes down to spending correctly down the road, as it did last time. But the foundation building aspect of this is interesting to me.

Benetti’s “thank you” falls on deaf ears

Mikey Monaco is good but also has a willingness to forge a career for himself outside of the Sox. I have a feeling the Sox won’t go for that this time around

Probably not, and that’s how they will control him. No one else wanted Paul. No one else sure as hell wanted to put him in the position the White Sox did. So he better follow the plan of Getz or else he’s back to being an assistant coach. Reinsdorf has taught him well.

  7. I’m going to try to be optimistic. We knew who Hahn and Kenny were, we have no clue who Getz will be. He has a chance to position himself as the franchise’s savior with the right moves. He also probably doesn’t have a lot of time to prove himself, pending the sale of the team. The only problem is his hiring likely comes with retaining Pedro. That move alone might define his legacy.

  8. I went to the game. Currently fairly damp in an uber.

If Tim truly said “I hate this place” as an attempt to be courteous to Jose Abreu, after declining an opportunity to take 2nd base and being met with appropriate boos, then I’m at my low point as a Sox fan.

Everyone in a White Sox uniform should be proud to be a part of the 20k+ members of the MLB fraternity (everyone that has ever played in the majors would fit in the lower bowl of many stadiums). Yet very few do. It disappoints me every time I watch.
