Mets fan here. The Mets are obviously going nowhere this year. It's unclear if they'll have enough talent to make the playoffs next year and bullpens can usually be put together between a few signings, some cast offs and the Mets have several pitching prospects in AA/AAA who could be bullpen bound, so, given Huoscar's age, selling him wasn't unreasonable, even if he's got all his arb years remaining. That was the fan point of view. The front office hasn't given their take. I think, if Braz was mid-late 20s instead of 36, they probably would have kept him. Bullpen arms have a tendency to be inconsistant and he's not young, so I think selling him made sense. Good luck this year!!
