  1. I can understand buck being there tho when they fall apart ozzie could take the 1 slot (if we stay in it of course)
  2. I personally don t take that much out of the power rankings for baseball but when I see this it just makes me smile... 8. Chicago White Sox 9.Chicago Cubs :finger this is according to Sports Weekly which i am a subscriber to. they have an article talking about awards for the 1/3 point in the season with Ozzie being #2 for AL manager of the year and Frank Thomas #9 with one first place vote for MVP they also mention us being more aggrasive in getting freddy garcia
  3. I was born in oklahoma in 1985, my first baseball game was college ball Oklahoma State vs Oklahoma, ironically my dad was an OU fan but my Mom told me about Robin Ventura who was in the middle of his college baseball record hit streak of 58 games, of course i was only 2 at the time so i didn't remember him from then but we nashville,TN in 1997 which was the aaa farm team of the Sox and as cool as this is my first baseball game in nashville and Ventura was on rehab from blowing out his knees in that play at the plate. Since that moment I have been I die hard ChiSox fan and Of course my Idol is Robin Ventura
  4. Good im glad no one wants him i mean the guy breaks his leg running the basepaths maybe koch for reitsma tho hes young and cheap
  5. I know this is just someone talking but according to someone on the sox mlb message board a deal is "close" to being made sending billy Koch and Paul Konerko to the Reds for Griff and Chris Reitsma anyone else heard this ??? I think it may be a good deal looking at Reitsma s stats (9-5 12 saves 4.29 era) but griffey would have to be fulltime dh for more than just fear of injury which would leave big frank to be full time first base. i hope it stays just a rumor, thoughts? :fthecubs
  6. hey cheat if you could make me a sig with the city of chicago back drop (like the willie harris one) and have players like ordonez thomas lee and if possible jose in it with lettering across sayinng The Southsidehitmen 2004 that would be great if you need more info just say so i have no idea how u do it but its awesome :fthecubs
  7. I think if Robert Person shows he still has it he should get it, I think he could be the next loiaza while my friend belives it should be given to one of are prospets. anyway just curious to see public opinion :fthecubs
  8. First of all Mr TLAK Joe Jakson batted .375 in the deadball era aginst the best team the N.L. had to offer. he hit the only homerun in the series and had 8 r.b.i. he owns the record for most hits in an 8 game series as well as most total bases he commmited no fielding errors. I realize he signed this confession but we will never know how itemidating it must have been for a person who couldn t read to sit in an office with leagel minds that were trying to make themselves look important by finding the best player of his era guilty of major crime. We still talk about pete rose and his scandel i just want joe to have the respect he rightfully deserves i will now step off my soap box if ur a sox fan you should stand up for this guy he was awesome just look at his career and add 5-10 more years he would have been in the hall before ruth in my opinion
  9. Im new to the message board so I don t know if this has come up before but anyway my top players of all time are 1. Robin Ventura-I have folloed him when he was with oklahoma state and i saw him play as a senior when i was 2 years old asd i grew up he brought me to the sox when he was drafted i've followed him and the sox all my life 2.Frank Thomas-He's always been the man 3.Joe Jackson- should not have been kicked out he batted 375 in the '19 series for christs sake 4. Magglio Ordonez- i watched him play through the minors in nashville all the way to where his is now he always signs autographs 5. Ozzie Guillen-hejust fun to watch hope hes the same managing :fthecubs opinions, other lists?
