Of the three batters that inning, Rios at bat was by far the best. Maybe Im watching a different game, but bard has basically dominated every hitter hes faced. Rios is having a bad year, it happens. It would have been great if the trade made him break out, it hasnt. But the only reason the Sox got him for free was because he was slumping. If he is playing like every other year in his career the Sox dont get him. Some times you need to be patient, the world isnt about instant gratification.

2003 is completely different. Sox added Colon and Koch and there was real enthusiasm about that team going places. They had a brutal road record, brutal AL West trip and im pretty sure gave up a few games against the Twins. 2009 there were very few expectations about the team, they were supposed to be rebuilding and now have a great pitching core that hopefully should be there for the next few years. The Sox still have more games left against the Tigers than they are back. So really all they have to do is beat the Tigers and they can win the division.

Iamshack, Right its a 4 game series. So as I said, if they win the next 2 they are even for the series. I merely meant that winning 2 of the first 3 or 1 of the first 3 isnt that huge of a difference in the grand scheme. And when you have Count and Garcia going against the Red Sox, do you really feel confident in those 2 games? The answer should be no, and the fact Freddy kept it close should be a positive.

Sin City, This place was different a long time ago. People were critical of players, but there wasnt the "Im done with this team" post after every bad game or outing. I understand where you are coming from, but a lot of people who have a similar attitude to you just dont feel its worth the time to constantly fight the tide.

How can you even say that? It would be great to win 2 of 3 from Boston, but if they win 1 of 3 thats what you have to expect, especially with Count and Freddy pitching. If Detroit loses the next 2 or goes on any slump the Sox still have plenty of time. Its one thing to get mad at players, but I dont understand how you can ever give up on a team if you are its fan.
