  1. LOL - did Kenny tell them Hummell's hit 25 homers this year? Wishful thinking on that Cinci writer's part.
  2. Adkins doesn't strike anyone out in AAA. That's a problem when you're talking about stud relievers. Either his stuff's too straight or he has nothing offspeed at all. The Sox really seem to be lacking in teaching the offspeed stuff to their young pitchers. Since Foulke, I can't think of the last guy we brought up that threw anything that looked like it could fool someone. Hopefully Cotts will prove to be the exception in his next start against Texas.
  3. Actually Neyer's been sticking with the Sox all season -- and he's a Royals fan.
  4. Baseball Prospectus has a decent article about him here: http://premium.baseballprospectus.com/arti...?articleid=2039
  5. Man is this soap opera crap a big load of dung! Baseball players play baseball. If there's still guys in the clubhouse whining about the fact that Greg Norton, James Baldwin and Brook Fordyce aren't here any more - then get rid of all of them - and please start with Konerko. What a whiny bunch of babies. Bartolo and Jimenez have been two of the very few bright spots this year - but they're always the problem - unbelievable. If there's a division between the Latin speaking players and the non-Latin speaking players and if this division is causing a problem - fine - fix the problem - get rid of the non-Latin speaking players - they're the ones who suck.

Big deal - at least he has a theory. What's the excuse for Konerko, Lee, Crede and Valentin?
  7. There's no excuse for not using Valentin there to hit against Foulke. None.
  8. I believe Almonte got rocked last night in AAA. Be careful what you wish for.
  9. I'd give it a couple more weeks... but I can see it coming. Harris would at minimum provide some much needed speed on the bases.
  10. Harris is now batting .418 with a .475 obp 4 hr 4 sb 10 rbi 13 runs scored in AAA. By the way, a .300 batting average in AAA might not always translate into something good at the major league level - but Harris' current numbers would - those are Playstation numbers. If someone asked Harris to change his approach right now - that person would/should be fired immediately. Jimenez is now batting .379 with a .461 obp 3 hr 2 sb 10 rbi and 13 runs scored in the Majors. No need for trasnslation here - he's rockin' and rollin' right now before our very eyes. Let's enjoy it guys - and PLEASE - until someone proves otherwise - let's put the Miles talk to rest for a while - he CLEARLY should not have beaten Jimenez or Harris out for any job - can we all agree on that now?
  11. LOL - the guy's batting .386 with 3 homers 4 SBs and an OBP of .449 over 11 games and we're complaining about his approach??!!! Unbelievable how we play favorites around here. Fellow Sox fans - believe me - nobody's asking him to change his approach when he's performing like this - by the way Charlotte is AAA not AA. Now if/when that BA drops into the .250s and he's not getting on base and it appears he's swinging for the fences - then you tell him to change his approach. But noone in their right mind would look at his numbers and say - nope - sorry - you need to cool down a little bit with all this hitting you're doing - we want you to be a poor hitting fast guy. Sure - the guy's not a power hitter - but he's definitely locked in at the plate - and that means he's approaching each at bat about as well as you can. I don't see Rowand holding onto his job much longer if Harris continues to light up AAA.
  12. Wow...what a strange thread. We don't like Jimenez because of things we heard he said or the way he responded when someone said 'Hi' to him at ST? Seriously, I respect all of you as Sox fans... but I root for my guys for how they perform on the field... not for how they act or how people say they act off it. Jimenez has impressed me from the beginning with his heads up defensive play and his ability to work a pitcher. The other crap - it's the same kind of crap people spew about Frank - soap opera crap - ugghh... No, Jimenez hasn't come close to putting up offensive numbers like Durham has over his career - then again - Jimenez is all of 25 years old. As great as Durham was while here... he was just as frustrating in his inability to reach the simplest plays up the middle. It sounds like some of you have developed friendships with players and their families over the years... and I'm envious of that. On the other hand, as a Sox fan, I'm glad my judgement hasn't been clouded by that fact and I'm able to make my evaluations objectively.
  13. FYI - The MLB radio announcers were Ed Farmer (the normal White Sox AM 1000 color man) and Harry Tenowitz (AM 1000 sports talk host) filling in for John Rooney (the normal White Sox AM 1000 play by play guy).
