Why did the ref have a gun on him? That's weird
south africa has the highest murder rate per capita in the world, and there have been numerous reports of officials being shot during/following soccer games.
just another reason why soccer should be wiped off the face of the earth.

as much as it was nice to beat the tigers 2/3, making sure MIN doesn't get us back for that sweep before the ASG means much more. can't be giving up games to our main division rival late in the season.

carl is a good addition, obviously, but i find it questionable to acquire the guy (just ONE guy) before the deadline in back-to-back years and give up players both times.
what was the contract he signed with montreal last year?

the detroit defense is absolutely pathetic (last in AL), their pitching is inferior to ours, and they can only match up with us at the plate. i agree with previous sentiments: the tigers have something to prove, and that is the reason they are winning ball games this year.
also, the tigers' ERA on the road is 3rd worst in the league, while the sox have the third best slugging pct at home. taking care of business during those homestands will be the difference.

that's why i always recommend parking near my friend's place (washington and green) and catchign the El to get to 35th. never fails, and you can ride wasted and not do anything stupid!

i cannot wait until the western michigan at illinois game in september. the broncos will have a chance, but I wouldn't bet on them unless it was UI -10 or more.

I'll be there, mostly for Interpol. have never seen the cure before and have never listened to any of their albums, but I hear they are good so i'll give them a shot. the rapture and mogwai are good as well.
do they still have the stupid two-ID rule for people under 25 there? does anyone know a back entrance to tweeter, because last time I saw rush there in 2002, it was backed up like a mother taking the normal route.

this was definitely a two man draft, but i like barker. I was hoping that the hawks would possibly trade down and draft montoya because, although I hate his guts, he's going to be good.

absolutely not. Lalime was absolutely HORRIBLE last year and cost the Sens many games, including the battle of ontario. he is in no way shape or form better than Osgood in goal.
i don't understand why the blues even gave them a 4th rounder for him. why don't they just reacquire roman turek while they are at it.
