  1. Game was close in the 1st half, with Duke going up 10 early on, but UNC closing the lead to 5 at the half. UNC forgot to come out for the 2nd half beginning, and turned the ball over on 6 straight possessions to fall behind by 17 points. But UNC clawed back behind Quentin Thomas, yes Quentin Thomas' leadership, and actually took the lead by 5. But Redick did his usual, and brought Duke back to a tie singlehandedly. UNC destroyed Duke on the boards, but Redick beat UNC. Roy Williams took QT out of the game at about 4 minutes left when UNC was up 5, and it was never the same. Duke closed the game on an 18-6 run. Roy made a big booboo. Redick is the NPOY, no more question.
  2. Ok, now that I've calmed down. Bobby deserves his scholly, he just had a very bad game in a crucial time, and shouldn't have been in the game at the end anyways, so not really his fault. Just sucks losing a very winnable game that could have just about solidified our spot in the tourney.
  3. Would be nice to get Bobby Frasor's scholarship back, what a waste. Can't do anything on the floor, too unathletic to get anywhere on the floor, and can't hit the broadside of a barn. Nice effort, but Quentin Thomas was great the whole game and Frasor ends up as the PG the last 4 minutes, this one's on you Roy.
  4. Before his injury, you could see the speed of Lewis. He was the biggest RB freak in the NFL, he could plow through the DL, and then outrun the DB's, which helped him get over 2,000. Bettis would be a pretty good comparison for Lendale in Bettis younger days. As Jerome aged, he put on about 35 pounds. I've been thinking about it a little more, and I think even Corey Dillon would be a good comparison for him. Similar size, similar ability to run through DB's, and enough speed to get it done in the open field.
  5. I like the size comparison Addison, but Lewis had ridiculous speed for his size. I think he ran something like a 4.37 in his 40 time, where I think Lendale will run closer to 4.52-4.55 or so. Taking nothing away from Lendale though, as I think he will be a very good one.
  6. Some "fun" with pictures from the game. Make your own judgements from the pic's. The "TD" by Roethlisberger. The "hold" on Locklear. The "push off" on Jackson.
  7. I had no idea Matt Doherty came back to campus to recruit Marvin Williams. I could have sworn that Roy took the group of Doherty's players that had never sniffed the tournament, and won it all. I'm not going to get into this argument here, it's over. Roy saved his alma-mater and KU got a very good coach of their own.
  8. Thanks for the link, I somehow missed that. I'm still not really worried though, as when Mularkey left, I thought our offense was going to go back to the basics, but the trend just continued.
  9. I definitely do wite, as Randle-El's arm will be missed as well as his special teams play. I've been amazed at his precision throws on the gadget plays. While Whisenhunt our OC might be hired away as a head coach, the Steelers will re-load with another OC that likes the gadget plays, as Cowher is in love with those types of plays. Mike Mularkey was the best we have had at the plays, and he should be available again if Whisenhunt leaves. So after all that rambling, yes I believe we will go after someone. I would guess Michael Robinson would be one of our draft picks in either the 6th or 7th rounds, and I wouldn't be shocked to see Brad Smith or DJ Shockley looked at in the 4th-5th rounds, as I think like you do in that McNeal could be gone on the 1st day to somebody, as he looked good at QB in the All-Star game and some believe Franchionne was holding him back.
  10. Officiating in sports seems to be at an all-time low. In my opinion its because the refs don't have enough accountability. You don't see refs getting suspended and fined for bad calls in games. It happens, but very rarely. Players mess up, they get benched, cut, or traded to the Knicks. Ref's mess up, ho hum, another day at the office.
  11. Thats pretty funny. I knew he was a senior this year as well, but about a week ago I checked their roster and it had him listed as only a junior, so I figured he red-shirted a year during one of his many medical problems. But you are right, he is indeed a senior this year, so I can definitely see Sumpter coming back this year to go for it all.
  12. Thats a ridiculously tough question for him. His team has a legitimate chance at the title this year, especially with his added skills. But, he also has alot of talent coming back next year, even with the loss of their top two guards. I see him red-shirting and playing his senior year with his long-time friend Jason Fraser.
  13. UConn has a murderer's row type of schedule coming up. Syracuse at Seton hall at Villanova at West Virginia Villanova Louisville There's a few gimmies in there with Notre Dame and South Florida, but other than that, I could see a few losses in there with any inconsistency.
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs05/n...tory?id=2321024 I love pro athletes...
  15. As a Steelers fan, I had to even rate it as only fair. Ben played very poorly, especially compared to his previous playoff games. Steelers defense backed off of the blitz early, and it cost them yardage. It was like watching a completely different Steelers team early in the game, not sure what was going on. Neither team brought their "A" game, and it showed on TV. But a championship is a championship if you are a fan of the winning team, it just wasn't nearly as fun for the other teams fans to watch.
  16. ACC also had "talks" with the refs from the Duke-BC game, as well as talking to BC's coach about it. Atleast the bias is finally getting out to the media now, but I don't expect much to come of it.
  17. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html So if my Steelers end up with Sinorice Moss and Cedric Griffin, I think I might pass out.
  18. Then why extend the arm and touch the defender if it would have had no effect? Basically you are saying the Seattle receiver is an idiot. There was clearly contact which helped keep the defender moving in the wrong direction, and helped the receiver stop. Was it needed contact? Not at all, as i think he clearly had him beat no matter what.
  19. Watch the replay again, you can clearly see the ref starting to pull it out directly after the catch, he just has trouble getting it out. That is one call that I didn't see either. Watching the replay, you can see about 1-2 inches that broke the line of the goal. There's no definitive proof that it wasn't a touchdown either, which is what need to be shown on video. The ball was either over the line, or less than an inch away, nothing conclusive at all. Wasn't a horsecollar, he grabbed him down by the shoulder pad, not the neck lining. That was an odd call, but Matt didn't really even try to make the tackle, he just flung his body down towards the ground and didn't even look at the ball carrier the whole time. Call didn't need to be made, but he clearly wasn't focusing on the ball carrier and was closer to tackling the blockers than the ballcarrier, luckily for him his feet tripped up the runner.
  20. Lofa Tatupu just admitted the Steelers were the better team. Pretty crazy when Seahawks players can admit it, but fans can't.
  21. You should see the Steelers boards as well, I can't tell you how many times I've had to bring this out.
  22. Pittsburgh was outgained by a whopping 57 yards, and actually outgained Seattle on the ground by 44 yards, which is how the Steelers win. As for the officiating. I'm honestly shocked to see all the outrage over it. The pass-interference that caused Seattle a TD was clearly a push-off, and RIGHT in front of the referree. The ref didn't even hesitate, he began pulling out the flag directly after he caught the ball. Another time Haggans was pulled down from behind by his collar, and I've seen people complaining over that, its amazing. Was the game pretty? Hell no. But there were atleast two missed helmet to helmet shots from Seattle in the game as well. It was just poorly officiated all the way around.
  23. Hey, they said our World Series was extremely boring, and I'll take both of these championships :-). I loved the pre-game stuff, and the commercials were decent at best, but the halftime show put me to sleep, and I didn't even watch any post-game stuff.
