QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 12:42 PM) It is crazy that Iowa ranks 1st in the country in the combined computer tabulations in the BCS polls. It is why I think if they win-out, they'll jump Texas because they would have to go up in the human polls if they win out (especially considering one of those wins, would be a road win @ Ohio State). I still think Iowa loses at least one more game, but a man can dream can't he, haha I couldn't fathom winning road games @ Wiscy, PSU, MSU, and OSU in one season. I had those same crazy dreams last season with Texas Tech before Oklahoma was a big party pooper. 10-0 and then Norman had to happen. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 24, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) I was one of the buyers in to Nebraska being "back" after the Missouri game, but now they are just back to what they've been the last several years, mediocre. After being blown out at home by Texas Tech, they lose 9-7 at home to an Iowa State team who didn't even have their starting quarterback. I give Iowa State some credit because it's their 5th win (and with games at Texas A&M and vs. Colorado left, they have a great shot to get bowl eligible if not also to 7 wins), but if you can describe a team as literally giving a game away, Nebraska did it today. They had EIGHT turnovers and were -8 in that category, many of which were inside Iowa State's redzone (with some inside the 5). A game that set football back several decades, and God the Big 12 North SUCKS. It's as bad as it's ever been, which is REALLY saying something. Also, if Guenther is serious is he's going to keep Zook around after Illinois finishes the season 1-11, then he's an even bigger idiot than I thought, which is also really saying something. I've never seen a team have an 8 turnover differential in a game. Nebraska just got their butts whipped last week, but this was the dictionary definition of giving a game away. But you have to give ISU credit for battling with back-ups at QB/RB and winning in Lincoln. -

Looks like the balance of power has finally shifted back to the NFC this season. -

Browns got hosed in the Steelers game. Steelers had 4th and 1, and came up short, they brought out the chains and the Steelers were clearly an inch short, yet they gave the Steelers a first down. I actually felt bad for the Browns. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 18, 2009 -> 02:19 AM) That was true tonight and last week, but in the rain no one could move the ball and tonight he was completely immobile. Watch the Illinois or Nevada and his accuracy is certainly there. It's not Chase Daniel, but let's be honest very few are as accurate as he is with passes of 20 or less. Gabbert has the pro tools and it was really painful to watch this game. Regardless of Gabbert's struggles, they had their chances. Outgain Ok State by almost 100 yards in the 1st half and trail by 7. It was a rough game, but these types were expected in the preseason. It's a young team that has the talent to be a top 20 team, but not the experience across the board yet. Yep, his lack of accuracy was frustrating to watch(I can't stand Okie State). He clearly has the size, arm strength, and mobility to be a superstar, he just needs to rein in his accuracy. Anyways, the Big 12 North is wide open for just about anyone now. Texas already has the South title clenched. -

Oh man Mizzou misses Chase Daniel. Gabbert has a cannon for an arm, but no idea where it's going. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) I can't keep up with all the games right now. I'm enjoying Nebraska's 300 straight sell out fans boo their team mercilessly. There is no place for booing your own team. That's awful. They should be cheering now, they just got a gift from the refs. -

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 17, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) Some people have too much time on their hands unless they got paid to make that. The worst part is that I think it's supposed to be a serious music video and song... -

Texas Tech QB Steven Sheffield has 370 yards passing in the 1st half against Kansas State, in his first career start. 6'4, mobile and a strong arm, thank God he's at the helm going into Nebraska next week. -

Man, Suh and Gerald McCoy are unbelievable DT's. Big 12 has some dominant DT's this year. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 10:37 AM) I'm genuinely surprised he signed. I'm sure he left a decent amount of money on the table. He was wanting to get paid a little more than what Heyward-Bey got. Eugene Parker(his agent) and that whole clown crew didn't help the whole process. They seemed to be waiting and hoping the 49ers lost so that Crabtree would have more leverage, but after a 3-1 start, they gave up and signed. having guys like Deion and Michael Irvin as "advisers" certainly didn't help, surprise surprise. -

Mendenhall should have officially won the RB position for the Steelers. Thank God no more Willie "arm tackled" Parker. Also, have to say I really like the Collinsworth/Michaels duo. -

QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 3, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) Really don't understand why there is a running into the kicker as well as roughing. If you hit him it should be 15, end of story. No judgment calls from the refs. Anyway, I still think Miami is barely a top 20 team. OU just isn't that good this year, it's really shocking. They are a much different team away from Norman. It's strange. I think it's pretty clear that Florida and Alabama are the best two teams in the nation(again?). -

Also, apparently UNM head coach Mike Locksley punched their receivers coach. This season just gets crazier by the day. -

Leach banned the TTU players from using Twitter. I think it's only a matter of time before a lot of other coaches follow suit. Twitter can get a program in to a mess of trouble. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 24, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) I bought tickets to go to the UNC game in October. I'm pumped because I haven't been to a road game outside the state of Florida. You will have a great time. You won't find a more beautiful stadium location in the nation, and UNC just spent millions on improving the stadium and adding a floor to the main concourse. Most stadiums are giant structures sticking out of the ground that can't be missed, UNC's almost catches you by surprise when you are walking towards it, it just fits in with the trees and hills around it. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 21, 2009 -> 09:14 AM) Hey T-tech fan(s), if you want to go to the big 12 conference championship just move to the big 12 north. Convince your school boards to put in the text books that texas tech is ACTUALLY in the north, show the text books to the big 12 conference, and voila! I would love that, but I would also take John Blake coaching OU and John Mackovic taking over Texas again, those were good days. -

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Sep 19, 2009 -> 10:43 PM) I also thought that helmet to helmet contact on the QB was a flag...maybe just not in Austin. The game was an absolute mess, but in what was supposed to be a down year, Texas Tech will compete for the Big 12 title again this year, I'm excited as hell.
