  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) Watch out for the ex. I was once in your situation, went out with her, ran into the ex., and proceeded to have the guy come after. I was at the friggin' mall the first time, he started pushing me around, threw a punch which I moved out of the way of and then I got out of there. Secruity caught up with him and threw him out of the place. She was all happy and impressed that I didn't resort to violence. I told her I didn't do it to impress her. I then pulled out the butterfly knife I used to carry and told her I didn't care to go to jail for her worthless ass. I then left her and never called her again. The idiot was outside waiting for me, so I had security get me to my car and keep him around. The next year+ I would run into this ass in different places, and it was always the same, he would come after me for going out with his "ex". I kept telling him it was one date. They were back together by that point also. Just because she is on a break doesn't mean he is willing to be on that break, especially if she is saying they will probably get back together. That ain't a dream situation, that's a wacky situation, and one to steer VERY clear of. Ofcourse this was always in the back of my head, but thanks because now after reading your story im a tad bit scared like hes watching me. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 04:01 PM) Then you are setting yourself up for failure. I can get attached easily as well, and in your situation, you know this probably isn't going anywhere. There are a few things at play. 1.You know she still has feelings for her old BF. 2. You are the rebound guy. While that might seem nice, you aren't going to get much out of the actual relationship. If you end up getting lucky on the 1st or 2nd date, is that really the type of girl you want a serious relationship with anyway? If you want to have some fun,go ahead. However, if you know you are one to get attached easy, don't even waste your time. While you will get enjoyment out of it early, it won't make up for crap you will have to deal with when she probably gets back with her old BF. I completely agree. Im too excited to cancel though. I havent been out much other than the gym and a few house parties since breaking up with my ex in october. We also dated for 2 years.
  2. by the way, shes 18, im 20. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) Call her up and cancel on her now. Just tell her something came up and you'll talk to her later. That really would be a decent move, but im not that desperate for her. Plus it ruins a friday night im really looking foward too. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) Those kind of relationships pretty much always bomb because she is still trying to fix the last relationship. I wouldn't kill myself for her if I was you. I know this, and I have to keep reminding myself of this. I just know in the back of my mind how I am, and how I get attached rather easily. I know I could never let it show though. If I ever did, chase over and game over.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) If she is hung up on another guy, I wouldn't bother. Depends what you mean by hung up. If anything she seems annoyed and looking for change, but at the same time she realizes after dating for 2 years there is an emotion comfortness and attachment.
  4. Got a first date tonight with a girl who is currently "taking a break" from her BF. Ive only known this girl for a week now, and it appears im the lucky one that she gets to have her "fun" with while her and her ex take their break. She has already prewarned me of the situation, and that her and her bf will more than likely end up back together. So im all for just going out, hanging out and having a good time with no strings attached. I know this is most guys dream.... but any advice on if...persay, I wanted to try to win her over?
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 06:26 PM) Who's left (girls) - Jordin, LaKisha, Melinda, Sanjaya,... anyone else? I can't remember. If that's all of them, think about it, I'm sure that they all don't quite get along, if you know what I mean.
  6. sorry guys about the spoiler mislead. Not quite sure what happen there.
  7. Well I got some information on whos leaving tonight. I cannot say its 100% because nothing like this ever is, but this guy has been right in predicting elimination since the top 12, including both Chris Sligh and Gina last week. Has also predicted the song selections before the show has gone on the air. I dont want to spoil it for anyone though so ill put it much much lower in this post. ::::Spoiler::::: If the source is correct, which he has been for the past month....Lakisha will be going home tonight. :::end spoiler:::
  8. a few quick comments from me; -According to dialdiol everyone is in danger tonight except for Blake -Haley was by far the worst. -I thought phil did alright, until his voice cracked. Depends how much people are bothered by that momentary mistake. -Blake stole the show. Easily the best performance of the night, maybe of the season. -Lakisha is on the bottom of dial idol, although thats no promise shes gone unfortunatly, since Haley was in that spot last week. -Sanjaya did well vocally in my opinion. Not my taste in music so its not something I can go back on, download and enjoy like I did with bathwater and waiting on the world. -Tonights result show is 1 hour -Chris Richardson is getting a lot of negitive reviews from websites and people at work, but I actually like his performance. -Melinda....same ol same ol. Great voice, but just does nothing for me. -Jordin...well, it was quite forgetable and hopefully wont cost her, but she is 2nd to last on dialidol predictions.
  9. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) So honestly, of all the singers left, you feel Sanjaya is the best and deserves to win over everyone else? Well I know I said ill quit on the sanjaya stuff, but If I get asked ill answer.... I dont think hes the best pure singer left at all, and I dont know if he deserves to win or not, but reguardless I do like his singing. I mean with this idol thing as im learning each person really has a fanbase whether they are the best or not and if they have a good or bad week they are still going to stick with them. Im a sucker for catchy chorus's which is why my favorites by him are 'Bathwater', 'you really got me' and 'waiting on the world' as opposed to some of his other choices of songs. I respect singers who can hit the high notes and can do the olympic voice thing and hit certain level's, but with sanjaya its more of a fandom thing. Ive liked a few of his performances, became a fan and thats really all I can say. He's Catchy, in rhytem and soothing. Does he deserve to win? Again I dont know. If its based on pure vocal ability like its supose to be, then no way, but in this day and age you have to be an entertainer as well. And in this season Sanjaya has really stuck out. Whether its something corny like changing of the hair each week or his charming personality he just gives you a good underdog story despite all the negitive controvery.
  10. Im gonna post this weekend story, but after this, atelast for today and tomorrow afternoon im going to try and give it a rest on this sanjaya thing. I like the dude's music, but too many people are overexagerating it, into a homo way. (not really here, but family, friends and another message baord) I bought a "Vote for sanjaya" shirts for 9 bucks. Well actually brought a tshirt and had it printed on. Later that night me and my cousin went to see blades of glory, but spent the first hour at woodfield mall. HOLYCRAP does it bring out a crowd. My cousin said it made him feel like I was a celebrity. I literally had 4 conversations with strangers in the hour I was there. Asking me about the show and sanjaya, and if I think he'll win and stuff. I must have had at the very least 5 "go sanjaya's", a handful of eyeroll's and headshakes, a whole bunch of "did you see his shirt" whispers to their buddies , and another handful asking where I got it. It was seriously strange as hell. I didnt expect that many people to awknowlage it. My conversations were actually with 3 females and 1 dude. None of them were 13 year old tennyboppers either. They were all over the age of 18, and all of them said they like him as well, but only 1 of them actually voted.
  11. well said http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAVoqqN6iCI
  12. Gina's exit interview from mtv http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/155...405/id_0.jhtml Q: Was it tough to see Sanjaya place higher than you? A: It's tough that all the other eight people did — it's not just Sanjaya. He's just different. It's not that he's better or worse — he's Sanjaya. And Jordin's Jordin, and Blake is Blake. America was through with me, and I'm fine with it. I'm going on tour! Q: Are there any bad feelings among the other "Idol" contestants about Sanjaya? A: I'm friends with Sanjaya, so they know that if they're going to badmouth him, they shouldn't do it in front of me. Q: What is Sanjaya like? A: He's exactly what you see on TV. He doesn't care what anyone thinks, he does his thing, and he's proud of himself. And I love that self-confidence.
  13. I personally vote for sanjaya because im a "fan", but admittingly I have disliked 3 his performances of "cheek to cheek", "stepping out with my baby", and "you really got me", but at the same time...I legitamitly have really liked his performances of "bathwater", "aint no mountain high enough", and "waiting on the world to change." I personally would preview his cd before buying it, but if he went for the catchy, pop type of song genre, I could see myself being a fan of his music.
  14. I dont know how legit this is, but take it for what its worth. http://nowrunning.com/news/news.asp?it=10090
  15. perfect article on sanjaya. “It’s all about communication with the public you know. There’s something in human nature that makes people gravitate to someone who’s good-looking — it’s nature, for goodness sake.” He attributes Sanjaya’s looks as a factor in his success so far, especially with the young girls who turn out in droves to vote for him every week. Warwick believes that Sanjaya can make it into the top five, but doesn’t personally see him going all the way to the end. He reminds everyone, though, “anything can happen.” As for Simon Cowell’s infamous statement that he’ll leave the show if Sanjaya wins? “Rubbish,” says Warwick. “America normally gets it right in the end. I don’t think — I’m pretty positive that Sanjaya will not be the “American Idol” this year.” He says that Simon only made that remark as a “press point” anyway, adding, “Simon’s not going anywhere, don’t worry.” Talk turned to the various “initiatives” that have reportedly been set up to encourage viewers to vote or not vote for Sanjaya, including Howard Stern’s very vocal support of Sanjaya on his radio show, and whether those influences could actually have an affect on voting if implemented. Warwick answers with a definitive “no.” “There is very little hype anybody can do with the vast number of votes that we get. I think that if every single person that listens to Howard Stern voted, it would still ... you know, the gap above and below Sanjaya is so big, that it wouldn’t affect the outcome at all.” So what is the bottom line when it comes to Sanjaya’s appeal? Warwick sums it up: “Say what you like about Sanjaya. He doesn’t actually have a bad voice, and he changes things up week after week, he’s always a talking point the next day, he changes his hair ... he’s a good-looking kid, and young girls love young, good-looking kids. He’s not the ‘bad singer’ that everybody’s making him out to be, and the judges said that last week. You know as well as I do that part of this business is your communication with the audience — and he’s certainly got that.” Only time will tell how Sanjaya measures up as the competition becomes more heated, and the challenges more difficult. He and the other contestants will tackle Latino music with Jennifer Lopez and rock songs with Bon Jovi in coming weeks. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17949198/
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 01:15 PM) Man, you are wired into this stuff!! As surprising as it might seem, this is actually the first season ive followed. Ive seen episodes and past winners, but never followed it until this season, so ive gotten more into it that ive expected. Also I have more than normal amount of downtime at work so Ive been following it pretty religously thru another message board. I dont know if people here like spoilers thats why I havent been posting too much about it. I usually get the song choices for each person monday afternoon or tuesday during the day. If anyones interested in the next couple of themes, here they are... April 10th (top 8) Theme - Latin Song's, Jennifer Lopez. April 17th (top 7) Theme - Country Song's, Martina McBride *uncomfirmed theme* April 24th (top 6) Theme - inspirational songs, idol gives back week May 2nd (top 5) Theme - Current Billboard hits, Bon Jovi
  17. Its going to be Haley or Gina going home tonight, but ill throw Lakisha's name out there, just for the slight possibility.
  18. I hate this vote for the worst stuff too, and im sure its part of the reason sanjaya is still alive, but you guys gotta realize he does have a pretty large and loyal fan base thats not "IN" on this whole, I hate american idol, lets ruin it, crapola.
  19. Sanjaya appears to be safe for tonight, so my sig is tribute to my next favorite who seems to be in some trouble heading into tonight. go haley. (btw, I didnt make the sig)
  20. I should add, I thought Sanjaya's song choice was brilliant if it was symbollic. Pretty much meant I know you don't like me as much as the others and feel I don't belong, but I still love you! He is even willing to wallow in our "old bathwater" He likes to think he is loved best of all. http://www.thelyricarchive.com/lyrics/bathwater.shtml
  21. I thought Haley and Sanjaya both did very well, but clearly im all by my lonesome there. Haley is amazingly gorgeous, but I still like her vocals even if im just listening to her without visuals. Sanjaya is to the point where nobody is ever going to give him the benifit of the doubt. He could be on key and have great rhytm like he did last night with the chorus and everyone jsut talks about how mellow pitched he sounds and how stupid his hair was. I thought he did well. This was the first time for me that I liked Richardson's performance. Blake bored the hell out of me. Im not even going to comment on Lakisha or Melinda because they are just not my style and I get easily annoyed with that and their horrendously bad looks. Jordin I thought did extreamly well considering the song she choose. As for chris sligh, I guess it wasnt his best performance, but I love his song choices. Id rather listen to him sing a good song, that I know rather than the crap Lakisha and Melinda keep singing. That leaves Phil and Gina. I thought they both did "alright", but according to the judges they raised their stock with great great performances. I honestly didnt see how, but its all opinion based. The bottom two will be Sligh and Haley tonight.
  22. I really liked Sligh's performance of "shes not there"
  23. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:36 PM) Yeah, it was a good natured ribbing, but I was very curious. Your saying you are not a R&B fan explains a lot though. I know you have said you kind of like Sanjaya, but it has to be more for the underdog role, as even out of the ones you mention, he is a FAR cry from being the best, in any way shape or form. Its a hard story to explain for my liking of sanjaya. I liked his audition, personality and character from the very begining. Then when he got through to the top 24 I still was hoping he did well, but I didnt really care especially since at this point as you said, he wasnt an underdog and noone knew what he would become now. It was after he performed "waiting on the world to change". I really liked his version even though it was almost a soft toned disney-esk type performance. Thats also when the tables turned. It got absolute 100% horrible reviews from the judges and everyone else. From there on it became week after week I was hoping for him to do good because I liked that performance. Then he dressed up in that cowboy hat, and all the bashing continued to get worse and worse, but for me its almost like I adopted him as a favorite similar to a sports team to where I cheered for him good or bad. I think hes good if you know what to expect. Obviously hes not the energetic, entertaining, getting the crowd punped up type. Again based on the number of people who disagree and this whole votefortheworst stuff im clearly blinded by biasness. Im curious though....for those who havent seen this yet. What do you think of him here? In this section they have cd quality MP3's of their performances. ( http://downloads.americanidol.com/genre.as...e=17&page=c ) Preview both of them. In 'Aint no mountain high enough' I think he sounds good. Im 100% straight for all you guys getting those funny ideas btw.
  24. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 22, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) ...what is your CD collection like??? Im sure it was just a joke not to be taken seriously, but I have a pretty wide variety. Im not a fan of rap or "R&B" though. My favorites off the top of my head are...Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Daughtry, Avril Lavigne, Taking back sunday, Houston Calls, Carrie Underwood, Sister Hazel.
