Sandlin, in his limited innings, has some of the most extreme splits I’ve ever seen. OPS of .444 vs righties, 1.005 vs lefties

If I had to guess, our starting pitching since the all star break is averaging less than 5 innings per start (non opener games). This is where the Smiths, Schultz, McDougal and Sandlin having bad years is brutal on the depth.

Great post! Given the conditions, the offense is to blame for these two loses. Vargas has been really bad in these two games, as has Chase (at the plate).

They have? Anyways, can’t really ask for a worse scenario tomorrow than Holmes and his sinker ball against Urquidy, a fly ball pitcher.

Type of stuff that needed to be considered a few weeks ago. You already have Martin saying he’s tiring, and it’s been widely speculated Schultz was close to his innings total.

Example of pitching depth concern….Burke is already at a career high in innings. Ideally you get him an extra day of rest whenever possible. Gonna be hard to do with the available options.

Pitching running out of gas and nothing in the pipeline that can be of help. I don’t think it would be a massive collapse, but the Sox are a .500 team since the ASB.

Hope he’s able to be effective with ABS. Was watching something about how Nola has had a hard time because he was used to trying to always hit the corners and got an extended plate. Someone like Kyle Hendricks would have been significantly worse in this new era.
