Beltran has said that he will take less to sign w/ a contender, so I don't see the Sox having a realistic shot at him. Besides, if they're gonna trade away konerko or lee to sign him, it wouldn't improve the team by much. Instead, I would like to see them trade C. Lee for Lowell (8.5 mil), then sign Pavano (around 10mil/yr). This should fall within their budget constraints. What should they do w/ Crede? His stock has really fallen, but the Sox should still be able to get a serviceable LF'er or relief pitcher in return. This was asked earlier but never answered: what caused this injury? was it the surgery? coming back too soon? Man, this is just awful. Our Chicago teams are jinxed.
