  1. And you know his attitude is s***ty because you played with him, right?  I've heard quite the opposite, he is a fierce competitor, and has outstanding stuff.  Signing him to a minor-league contract means we have no obligation, and if he proves healthy, our bullpen would be ridiculous.

you heard from him, or what??? Dont follow up an opinion with an opinion if you are trying to be factual. He wont sign with us, there is no room for him in our bullpen, and would just take up space in AAA. Keep wishing, but its not gonna happen.

  2. would be a worthless addition to our bullpen, and his attitude is nothing but a s***ty one, which is why nobody wants him the first place. No need to go to the scrap heap for arms this season, no thanks

  3. Mark doesn't scare me nearly as much as an El Duque or Contreras.  Mark has no "bad" pitches for his arm.  He doesn't throw a heavy slider or screwball or heavy curveball that torques wrist shoulder and/or elbows.

have you seen his floating curve??? thats the one pitch that could hurt him, he torques his arm alot on that pitch

  4. McCarthy has to have plus stuff to be striking out as many batters as he does, doesn't he? I mean, Maddux is a smart pitcher, and although his K/BB ratio (in his prime) was sick, you still never saw the K/9 IP that McCarthy is putting up. So the synopsis of McCarthy is "just ok stuff" but the brains to strike out people?

his fastball is supposed to have some late movement on it, and he can throw 3-4 other pitches with great accuracy. That alone is worth a look in the bigs. You have to remember how low his walks are, alot of pitchers with unreal curves cant hit the zone and walk everyone, he k's and doesnt walk everyone. That bodes real well for his future

  5. I can go this weekend if you need someone to go for you...  You could try calling the team and see what they say.  Or email Brooks directly.

how about trying to find tickets that arent two miles from the field, the upper reserved area is being sold for this exact reason, there are still lots and lots that are available in the lower area, including if people cant use their season tickets.

  6. Sorry guys, I had 20 of them and they went in like 2 minutes, sorry to all who PM'ed me and didnt get one. I think they are going on sale online and in the shops soon, so dont worry. I know im not taking mine off until we make the playoffs

  7. we forget that the fish LOVE young talent, and like to develop that talent, im sure that they would be interested in some of our young talent on this issue, that is well under priced. Would you be willing to get rid of maybe two prospects or a prospect and a long reliever for castillo?????

  8. 4.) Breakups of GIDP.

GIDPs are rally killers.  Having speed is something that can help break this up. A fast runner puts the defense into a position to try and get that lead runner.  Forced throws or breakups of the double play can exend the inning.

Thats the big one for me, it would drive me crazy when we had runners at first and third one out and then someone would hit into the inning ending double play.

yeah but we still have double play paulie on the team. He either hits a bomb or grounds into a double play, so we will still see many of them.

  9. well either way, because as far as the 81 games I pay for, i prob only make 50 games, and I have lower box seats, so I absolutley feel terrible when I have so many left over at the end of the season, and I would love my seats to get some more fans in them.

  10. I thought we could start a thread dedicated to people who need extra tickets. I have season tickets on the third base side, and sometimes I dont make it to the games because of work and I am left with un-used tickets. I would like a place to possibly let other fans go in my place. Does anyone else like this idea???

  11. I know alot of people have tons of time on their hands with boring jobs, not going outside, being in school etc, but KW does not have the time to read posts on a message board. DO you really think he would value a kid's opinion on who should start at 2b. Because im sure there are alot of people on this site who are not of legal age, and have only a few years of watching the game of baseball under their belts. Even people who are "important" daily posters on this site do not have a single ounce of relevance in the daily workings of the white sox organization. Lets not kid ourselves here, its just a message board.

  12. Harris 04:

    April  .254 .299 .324 .623    +45

    May .384 .439 .438 .877 +55

    June  .182 .316 .197 .513 +134

    July .188 .333 .229 .563    +145

    Aug .288 .347 .379 .726 +59

    Sep .218 .291 .295 .586 +73

Harris shows great patience when he's not hitting & poor patience when

he is.  He is by far the worst option of the 9 choices for the CWS at 2B.

Cora is a great improvement over Harris.  Look at his numbers above.

Cora shows patience whether he's hitting or not.

wow, those stats really do bring to light how much more patience cora has than willie. In fact, if you can please find some more numbers that will help prove the point that would be great.

  13. Rather keep the team how it is and sign some middle of the road next guy rather than trade for one now. I know some people will not agree with me on this. But no one we trade for will honestly put us over the top and make us legitimate contenders. Keep duhon and you have a very nice back up point guard.

Back-up point guard??? uh....he is the starting point, both Kirk and Ben play the 2.

  14. Maybe cub mgmt just refuses to acknowledge the existence of the STL Cards:

their biggest rival that won 105 games last year. It seems that way.

It seems they built a team to beat Pitts, Milw, Cinn but ignore both Hou & Stl.

Hou will fall to earth.  Having lost the Rocket & Beltran you can't keep a high.

But STL seems to just re-tool year after year.  If they body shops, STL is constantly upgraded their rod while the cubs seem to just do routine maintenance on theirs.

All that being said, they sure do acknowledge the Cards when it comes to ticket prices :D

you mean the cards who lost their middle infield this offseason???? They subtracted a pitcher, and added one, but lost probably the second best shortstop in the league. I would say that in their division, everyone has pretty much stayed the same or gotten worse, I cant honestly see anyone who has improved.
