  1. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Mar 28, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) True, but there's this new invention called High Definition Television, and believe it or not they broadcast sports games in Widescreen. Can you imagine that? I did some more looking into it. They say it's 4:3 Letterbox. I have never seen that before. Usually if something is Letterboxed it's set up for 16:9 TVs. That way it takes up the whole screen without any black bars, which is how it looked when broadcast in HD format. It's a bit of a bummer, but it's great being able to watch the games! Even better, every time I watch it, the Sox still end up sweeping the Astros! Endymion
  2. Just received my copy today! Watching Game 3 as we speak. I am no DVD expert, but I am dissapointed in that it doesn't appear to be widescreen. Well it is Widescreen, but it doesn't take up the full screen like most of the widescreen movies. Other than that, it's pretty much a lost weekend! Endymion
  3. Does anybody have some thoughts on the various World Series books that were put out soon after the Sox won? I was thinking of getting, one or more, of them. I live far away from Chicago so they are not in my local bookstore and I haven't been able to check them out. Here are the Amazon links Trib book http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/157243858...5Fencoding=UTF8 Sun Times Book http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/159670139...5Fencoding=UTF8 and a Sporting News book (with Ozzie introduction) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/089204845...5Fencoding=UTF8 Thanks for any feedback! 4. Here is an interesting question..... If Harold Baines was on the Hall of Fame Ballot this season, would he get in? He is definitley, IMHO, the most qualified candidate if he was going this year. Next year he will be left in the dust with McGwire, Gwynn and Ripken. It's interesting to think what could have happened if he went this year instead. And who would have thunk at the time?? Harold's career lasted longer than Albert Belle! I'm just glad to see Harold get a WS ring with the White Sox. One of my favorite ball players, one of the classiest ball players to play the game. 5. Thomas Baines Fisk Mags Richie Zisk LOVED the South Side Hitmen and I especially loved Richie Zisk's one year with the Sox. That was a great season for a 9 year old kid to watch! Endymion keats
