Sample (10:43am ET) Their is a rumor out there that the Jays are talking to Chicago about a huge blockbuster trade that would send Ted Lilly,Shea Hillebrand and Miquel Batista over to the Sox

QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Why should a couple of teenage girls know who Nellie Fox is? I think we sometimes get a little to full of our selves in what we think is important baseball knowledge. Should I be upset that they or anyone here not know who Lamar Johnson is? Lamar Johnson was one of my fav players as a kid. He didnt last to long has the Brewers hitting coach.

Donnie Brasco (NY): If Hermanson is out long term, would the White Sox go out and get a solid closer? Politte's worst year was as a closer so I don't think he is viewed as a long-term solution. Any thoughts? Rob Neyer: (2:40 PM ET ) Wash same answer. Rinse. Repeat. The White Sox are so far ahead of the Twins, does the status of Hermanson really matter? Damaso Marte's capable of closing games, and now Bobby Jenks is the closer-in-waiting. But what's wrong with Hermanson? Something just happen? Dont these so called experts read the newspaper

God Do I hate Band wagon Jumpers
My wife and I went to last night game and their were about 8 guys sitting behind us all with their new Sox merchandise on.. Its great to see the Sox pick up some new fans but these guys totally sucked.. They were talking throughout the whole game some of the discussions they had were 1 They didnt know who Nellie Fox was 2 How Much better it is going to Wrigley Field over the Cell especially when the Cubs were in the playoffs. 3 Tadahito is a brutal ball player 4 Rowand is a bad OF Im afraid guys like this will take up all the playoff&world series tickets away from the die-hard fans. I will have my tickets since I been a season ticket holder since 1988..

Kevin (Cincinnati): Does ESPN know that there are 28 Major League Baseball teams OTHER THAN the Yankees and Red Sox? We are going to have to watch these teams all through the playoffs anyways. Jim Caple: (1:30 PM ET ) I hear you, though I'm hardly one to complain since I wrote a book about the Yankees. But my bet is that we won't see at least one of those teams this October, and maybe not both, if the Orioles can get a little more pitching.

Aaron (Las Vegas): Why has no one noticed that the White Sox are in the bottom half of the league in Hits, AVG, OBP, and only 5th in Runs. Pitching has clearly carried this team, but don't you think they come down to earth? Jim Caple: (1:19 PM ET ) Yeah, well, last time I checked, pitching was a rather important part of baseball. I keep seeing people say the Sox don't score enough, they can't hit enough but sheesh, when you have good pitching, that means you don't have to hit that well. Whether they can win the World Series, I don't know (I pick the Cardinals there) but I think they have a very good team.
