  1. Frank (Toronto) Hey Billy! What is going on with the Bluejays. Do you think they will make any moves at all. Sample (10:43am ET) Their is a rumor out there that the Jays are talking to Chicago about a huge blockbuster trade that would send Ted Lilly,Shea Hillebrand and Miquel Batista over to the Sox
  2. See the Sox pick up is Scott Eyre. Maybe we can get Eyre in the Schmidt deal
  3. from the tribune Larry Monroe, the Sox's chief scout, attended Tuesday night's Atlanta-San Francisco game to evaluate Giants pitcher Jason Schmidt.
  4. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Why should a couple of teenage girls know who Nellie Fox is? I think we sometimes get a little to full of our selves in what we think is important baseball knowledge. Should I be upset that they or anyone here not know who Lamar Johnson is? Lamar Johnson was one of my fav players as a kid. He didnt last to long has the Brewers hitting coach.
  5. Donnie Brasco (NY): If Hermanson is out long term, would the White Sox go out and get a solid closer? Politte's worst year was as a closer so I don't think he is viewed as a long-term solution. Any thoughts? Rob Neyer: (2:40 PM ET ) Wash same answer. Rinse. Repeat. The White Sox are so far ahead of the Twins, does the status of Hermanson really matter? Damaso Marte's capable of closing games, and now Bobby Jenks is the closer-in-waiting. But what's wrong with Hermanson? Something just happen? Dont these so called experts read the newspaper
  6. My wife and I went to last night game and their were about 8 guys sitting behind us all with their new Sox merchandise on.. Its great to see the Sox pick up some new fans but these guys totally sucked.. They were talking throughout the whole game some of the discussions they had were 1 They didnt know who Nellie Fox was 2 How Much better it is going to Wrigley Field over the Cell especially when the Cubs were in the playoffs. 3 Tadahito is a brutal ball player 4 Rowand is a bad OF Im afraid guys like this will take up all the playoff&world series tickets away from the die-hard fans. I will have my tickets since I been a season ticket holder since 1988..
  7. Im very happy about his performance..I just hope he can stay healthy for the entire season as well as the post season
  8. Lets make it Six in a row tonight and have our 63rd victory of the season. Go Sox
  9. How perfect would it be if the Yankees&Redsox miss the playoffs
  10. Kevin (Cincinnati): Does ESPN know that there are 28 Major League Baseball teams OTHER THAN the Yankees and Red Sox? We are going to have to watch these teams all through the playoffs anyways. Jim Caple: (1:30 PM ET ) I hear you, though I'm hardly one to complain since I wrote a book about the Yankees. But my bet is that we won't see at least one of those teams this October, and maybe not both, if the Orioles can get a little more pitching.
  11. Aaron (Las Vegas): Why has no one noticed that the White Sox are in the bottom half of the league in Hits, AVG, OBP, and only 5th in Runs. Pitching has clearly carried this team, but don't you think they come down to earth? Jim Caple: (1:19 PM ET ) Yeah, well, last time I checked, pitching was a rather important part of baseball. I keep seeing people say the Sox don't score enough, they can't hit enough but sheesh, when you have good pitching, that means you don't have to hit that well. Whether they can win the World Series, I don't know (I pick the Cardinals there) but I think they have a very good team.
  12. Juan, Paterson, NJ: Can you believe the Yankees are in first place ??? How did this happen?? How do you think the AL East is going to end up? If you're telling me the Yankees are gonna make the playoffs after there up & down first half, then I am done with baseball for this year!! Jim Caple: (1:01 PM ET ) I don't think they'll make the playoffs -- too many holes, too old (though they can bash). I think the wild card will come out of the Central. And I pick the White Sox to go to the World Series.
  13. I wasnt able to watch the all star pre game ceremonies but I saw in a few different places that the WSox players were booed when they were announced is this true.. If it is why so
  14. Paul (Chicago): Harold, how is it POSSIBLY defensible to say that the White Sox are not the favorite in the AL this year? What do they have to do to make believers out East? Harold Reynolds: (11:20 AM ET ) When you start looking at playoffs and matching teams up, it becomes difficult to dominate. When you look at Anaheim for example and you match up with them man to man in a short series, anybody can win. That's it. It's no disrespect to the Sox, but the picture changes in the postseason. That's why the Yanks and Red Sox are so dangerous if they get in.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) Wow, a very interesting and creative solution. He is a solid pitcher, and has a nice K/BB ratio. He is a righty, which we already have covered, but it could be a possibility. Yeah Matt Wise has been really solid all year not to sure why the Brewers want to get rid of him
  16. Cheaper solution might be Matt Wise from the Brewers.
  17. Weaver is a Scott Borass player so dont think the Sox would go after him

  19. Im a little scared that Hermanson back problems could be a problem for the rest of the season since he has been having trouble with it all year.
  20. Dont know if this was mention or not but Gammons said on sportscenter that the Sox are intersted in Jeff Weaver
