  1. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) Ugh, just under it. Just a wee bit. Didn't help that it was inside either.
  2. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) Hopefully it will help Backe throw less quality pitches like that one. So much for that.
  3. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Hopefully that last inning will wake up the offense Hopefully it will help Backe throw less quality pitches like that one.
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) This seems like a good wild pitch time I agree. And in all honesty I think he'll do it on purpose too.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Yep. And you had faith, too. I did. Thanks for noticing! And even if I didn't I wouldn't whine like we were a terrible team. A team that has scored 5 or more runs in 6 games. I mean the thought of it is just hilarious.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) We have a major leaguer on our hands. Where did I say that? I said i put my opinions with the players. Where did I say I knew the answer.
  7. The best part is its most of the same people that said we had no chance to get and come back against Oswalt after 4 innings yesterday.
  8. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) in reality, you aren't more correct then them. But in your head good luck. I agree with whatever they decide to do. So its these guys opinions vs. the major league players opinions. Like I said, I think I'll pay attention to the players.
  9. I can't wait until there is a big Soxtalk get together so I can get everybodies autographs. I had no idea we had so many big leaguers that came in the game threads. It's a privledge to be here with you guys. Only White Sox fans can get pissed at their players in a 0-0 game after winning 10 out of 11 in the playoffs.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) Yes, but he didn't, and he took a rather weak swing at the fastball. I'm gonna trust the guy with the .400+ OBP and .922 OPS in the playoffs thank you very much.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Jphat...that was a fantastic AB. Pods should never swing at the first pitch. You wouldn't have said that if he tripled into right center.
  12. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) How sad is it that a guy with less than 50 at-bats at the major league level is the only one to put a ball into play? Because Backe is throwing him mostly fastballs.
  13. We've now scored 5 or more runs in our last 6 games in the playoffs against the number 2 and number 5 pitching staffs in baseball this year. You know how many times we've did that this season? ONE TIME. And never 7 in a row. We've played way over our offensive heads in the postseason. We were due for an off game. Especially against a pitcher who is located in an NL park. Oh yah. And our offense sucks. Blah blah blah.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Well, learn to adjust. They're major league hitters for a reason. And once again, this isn't Cy Young. How can Garcia have a better AB than our last 5 hitters? Ridiculous. I agree bigtime. These guys need to learn to adjust. I mean, it's not like we've won 16 of the last 17 in the last 4 series. In three of those series we faced 3 of the top 5 pitching staffs IN THE MAJOR f***ING LEAGUE. But I agree. We need to light him up too, even if he's locating perfectly. Just no excuse for it really.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) He's throwing well, but we're also swinging like we've never seen a slider before. That's what it looks like when somebody has a 93 mph fastball, and great slider that he can throw for strikes. He gets hit when he isn't locating. Unfortunately he's locating.
  16. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) This is embarrassing. Look for the god damn breaking pitch you idiots. Juan was looking for it. Got it, and had ZERO chance to do anything with it. If he doesn't swing he K's looking.
  17. That's just filthy. That's a called K if he doesn't swing. He's hitting his spots.
  18. Backe's definitely had the best stuff we've seen in the WS so far. He doesn't have the best stuff, but he's thrown the best.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) I was on the play Willie bandwagon a few days ago, but we know it's not going to happen, so there's not much use in arguing about it. It's not going to happen because its not a great idea. Of all the things we disagree about I think this is the one I disagree with the most.
  20. Seems like Crede isn't throwing as wild anymore. Nothing in the dirt or out of reach. Maybe he's setting himself better. Or maybe its cause his back doesn't hurt.
  21. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Their bullpen also threw 628,420.2342 innings last night So. Its the world series. THey pitched an inning or two. That's not a big deal. College kids do that s*** all the time. Everybody does that all the time. THe media makes more to it than there is. Now if they had pitched a lot 4 or 5 days in a row, thats something different.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) No, but when I see Backe putting great pitches to hit the longer we wait, it makes me wonder why we're being so aggressive. He got a good pitch to hit. He just didn't get a hit. If you get a good pitch to hit with someone in SP, I say swing. And I tend to trust the players judgement a little more than my judgement.
