  1. I saw the boxscore today adn who got the loss and my heart almost stopped. Cliff Politte gave up a walk off HR to somebody (not good) on the pirates. I worry for him and i thought he would be better after coming off the DL (Granted i have to give him some time to get back into swing). I also remember Montero pitching extremely tough against the pirates last night and that got me wondering if politte should build up his confidence in AAA while Montero stays with us.

Just my thoughts, what about you guys

  2. that plate slap was bad-ass though, i love aj and the way he plays

On a side note, it was funny to see Jones slap the plate like it meant something

YOU ARE IN 5th PLACE IN YOUR DIVISION AND YOU JUST BROKE A 11 GAME HOME LOSING STREAK

    YOU ARE NOT GOOD

  3. not to mention bobby is the most imitating pitcher (i believe) with a 100 mph fastball mixed with his big hook and now a 97 mph slider? he's untouchable and plays with passion

    that a boy bobby

  4. yeah he was a huge pickup when the pirates first got him, but he has been going down.

i would take oliver perez in a second, he's a young lefty who can either eat up innnings in the bullpen or come out in game situations

    go get him kenny

  5. i watched the cubs game after we beat the pirates yesterday and i noticed that zambrano went 2-3 with a two run homer while D-lee went 0-5 with two strikeouts. That had me wonder what the highest a pitcher has batted in a the lineup (not including double switches).

I know that jason Marquis on St. Louis does some pinch hitting for them but any pitcher ever batted like a 6 spot or 7 spot (babe ruth doesnt count)

I'd love to see them trade Zumaya for Smoltz. The only Tiger starter he's out-pitching right now is Bonderman, and that's by .04. His ERA is bound to go up a little in the AL as well. He's still an above average starter, but he's no longer a difference maker. Giving up a young stud like Zumaya for basically 2 years of Smoltz would be pretty dumb.

i believe smoltz would be a be a great trade for us. He is a declining pitcher who is hurt this year because he has been switching from bullpen to rotation. He will get injured and that would help us indefiently
