  1. I'm not trying to be an Ozzie hater in this post but to take the bat out of the two best hitters to move a runner along didn't really sit well with me. I know it all worked out but we scored both our 8th and 9th inning runs off base hits with two outs. I hate to say it but if the situation was reversed, I'm sure the twins would have been able to knock those runs in with outs to kill. I loved how Carlos and Alexi battled but I just didn't agree with his tactics. I understand Dunn is a force and whatnot but let your all stars get their swings in. Either way beating the twins is a joy to watch.
  2. I didn't understand today why Ozzie would have Alexi bunt over Pierre so they could walk Paulie to get to Dunn. I understand that there were no outs (one out after the bunt) but to take the bats out of the two best hitters in your lineup to face Dunn seemed crazy to me (Thank god for TCQ base knock- he was pumped after that). I know that it was probably the right play with another lineup but it really bothered me today with the situation at hand. Also, why didn't they bunt AJ over after the leadoff double so Teahen could possibly hit a sac fly to win the game? They did it earlier with our best hitters so why not when the situation called again for it? I'm not manager but I would have reversed the calls if I saw both situations. Please don't be offensive in your posts. Thoughts?
  3. 20 hits. 14 runs. Lets kill 'em Now that the Hawks lost that heartbreaker, lets have another Chicago team to get their act together.
  4. The fact the Milledge made a couple errors in the field that cost us some runs in yesterday game shows that he can not play the field. Our lineup is fine, we need someone that can catch the ball and not make dumb little league errors
  5. Lasting Milledge should not be playing left field. Put him at DH - he has misread a ball and double clutched which cost us both runs.
  6. NOOOOOOOOOOOO That inning has just shattered my hopes and dreams
  7. Has there ever been (I'm sure there has) a player that has played on every team in one division. I was thinking about this when the Reds picked up Jim Edmonds (Cubs, Cards, Reds, Brewers). I also noticed that Thome has played on three AL Central teams. Does anyone know if there has been a player to do this?
  8. Can we reactivate Big Frank for that game? Let's DH him and see if we can get some more production out of that spot. I would love to see him in the batters box again.
  9. If your the closer and have a three run lead, the worst thing you can do is walk the first two batters. I wouldn't have minded the blow save if they would have actually hit their way to four runs but the fact that we had three walks in the ninth is unacceptable (2 for bob, 1 for santos). Walking two leadoff batters is not the way to pitch as a closer.
  10. Looks awesome. Great work.
  11. I was at the game today and Rios smack was the farthest ball I've seen hit in Wrigley in a long time. He clobbered that thing. It good to see us put up some runs. Lets go Sox.
  12. QUOTE (jamesdiego @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 11:31 AM) Ozzie needs to go for his tired bull$#!t. And take that P.O.S. Oney with you. I agree. I also didn't like how he mentioned that Galaraga wouldn't pitch a perfect game against us. I understand what he was getting at but the guy had a perfect game stripped away from him and that was just an unneccesary comment for being 8.5 games back of the division. He shouldn't be allowed to talk sh*t to anyone if we are playing this poorly
  13. We always have trouble with Joe West. Although it might not be Ozzies fault, the feud between Ozzie and him seem to come out every time he umps us and I don't want that to affect how our team plays. Hawk mentioned that the second balk was given mainly because of Ozzie and not Mark's move. I don't care who started the feud but we can't have that affecting our players because of Ozzie's actions. Very impressed with the bullpen (minus Jenks who I don't think will be with us much longer). Mays almost over, lets have a huge June and push ourselves into a (relatively) competitive race.
  14. I know I am jumping the gun on this one and this prediction is purely based on the Hawks and tonights win, but the upcoming schedule against the NL looks like we start a decent win streak and see what happens. We play the Cubs, Pittsburg, Washington, Atlanta, and the Royals pretty much for the majority of June. I know other teams are looking at us and thinking the same thing but it would be great to see the Sox break out and make a little run to start off this summer. With some momentum, we can win these series and gain a couple games on the Twin and Tigers (or get closer to .500). Am I just overly optimistic or can we do this?
  15. I think you have to say the Blue Jays. To watch a team as talented as the Jays get worked every year by the likes of the Red Sox, Rays, and Yanks would make me sick. If the Jays were in the West (or anywhere in that matter) they would have a shot of making the playoffs every year. Imagine if they were in the NL East? It would be a different story.
