White Sox vs. Royals......Goin for the Series
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Does Ozzie want to win this game? It's not a must win for him since he saw that the Twins already lost.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 02:05 PM) Yep, why panic now? I mean, this offense is consistently going out there and putting up 7 runs on 12 hits a game now. You're preaching to the choire.

Keep pulling the low and away pitch.

White Sox vs. Royals......Goin for the Series
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) The annoying thing is that we don't even have a righty on the bench who we could DH today. I hope that AAA title is important enough to not promote Fields yet. Do you really think Ozzie would DH Fields over Thome? I really don't.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Why didn't we score on Gooch's swinging bunt? Pablo probably would have been an easy out at home if he ran.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 01:40 PM) I believe it was against Toronto like 3 weeks ago. What happened to Ozzie's rule where he added 1 extra day off after an injured player said they were ready to play?

Pitching Matchups for Boston series
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) • Monday: White Sox (RHP Jon Garland, 16-4, 4.47) at Red Sox (RHP Julian Tavarez, 2-4, 4.90), 6:05 p.m. CT • Tuesday: White Sox (RHP Javier Vazquez, 11-8, 4.98) at Red Sox (LHP Kason Gabbard, 0-3, 6.35), 6:05 p.m. CT • Wednesday: White Sox (RHP Jose Contreras, 11-7, 4.23) at Red Sox (RHP Kyle Snyder, 4-3, 5.94), 6:05 p.m. CT Wow. Great pitching for Boston. Didn't we struggle against a bunch of crappy pitchers this past week? How will this be any different?

Are you In or Out
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 10:52 AM) Exactly. Don't stop believin'. Guillen won't allow this team to go into a funk. Players love him because he continually keeps them lose and ready to play. His lineups, which rarely feature all regulars, are used because our bench is so deep. Allowing players extended rest worked last year. Why couldn't it again? Managing from ones "gut" is definitely an underrated managerial move. It allows oneself never to be questioned. When someone asks, "why'd you do that particular move," all Guillen has to do is hoist his World Series ring and immediately the interviewer will nod his head in approval. Honestly, I'd take our team over anyones in October. Playoff experience is overrated -- expect when used to benefit an argument concerning our team -- then it isn't. These guys know how it is to win it all, and will show their hunger down the stretch. If anyone doesn't believe so, leave now and quit wasting our time!! You might be the only one who sensed my overly-sarcastic original post.

Mods, can you please change my sarcastic title to 'or' not 'our'?

Are you In or Out
Come on guys! We still have a half game lead in the wild card. Detroit is not a very good team. They will fall because Kenny Rogers is a bad second half pitcher and Verlander has never pitched more than 130 innings. Our team just hasn't hit their stride yet. Wait till we do! Once we get a good outing from a starting pitcher the rest of them will feed off each other. Actually I think they might have just turned the corner. Jose only gave up 2 ER last night. That's a quality start. The bullpen should start improving soon too. Cotts probably has hit rock bottom so there's only 1 way to go from there, up. I also think the Pods will start to turn things around here soon. Once he starts getting on base he will wreak havoc with his speed and set the table for our other hitters. I am sure Greg Walker is working really closely with the hitters to make sure they get out of this funk where they pull all the time. Once he gets that straightened out watch out! Now I know Ozzie hasn't fielded the best defensive lineups out there this year but how can you question him? He won us a World Series last year for crying out loud! He knows what it will take this year to get another title. Offense is more important this year than defense. Let Ozzie be Ozzie. Grab the Rally Crede because we're winning it all again!!! Lets go Sox!!

Post-game curse-a-thon
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 10:23 PM) Yet Joe Crede has 2 crap at bats in his final two including the final pop out. You guys that want to blame Oz for our s***tiness baffle me. I would play Pods over the guys you want playing. Ozzie, you should be doing your postgame interviews, not posting on a message board.

Post-game curse-a-thon
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) Like what, Fathom? Crede pops up to end the game. If he hits a liner in the rc gap, we win the game. Like leaving Jose in too long? Jose is a starter on a big league team. He has to go more than 4 innings and errors contributed to Jose's s***tiness too. Playing Pods? Pods is the best we got in that option. Oz is playing the personnel KW gives him. Wow. What games are you watching? Pods is brutal, Mackowiak is not a CF, and Uribe needs to be out there for the stetch run. That's all Ozzie. He makes the lineup cards.

Post-game curse-a-thon
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) For a manager who preaches pitching and defense. Why in the name of god does Cintron and Mack start a game. Especially together. He doesn't even talk about defense anymore. I don't think he considers it important anymore.

Post-game curse-a-thon
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) As much as everyone loves to b****, whine, and complain about it being the offense and Ozzie's fault, it was once again our s***ty pitching with no help from the defense... Ozzie is to be blamed for the defense.
