  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) I'm stunned Ozzie brought in our worst reliever in such a tight spot. If you're going to bring a lefty in, you might as well let Thornton face ARod. Thornton pitched before MacDougal.
  2. Fun is the last word I'd use to describe watching a Sox game.
  3. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Only one out.... Even worse.
  4. Here comes a bases clearing double and then a strike out. Cotts' ERA will remain low.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 09:16 PM) Remember that thread I made about how opponents are able to bring in a Loogy to pitch to Podsednik, Iguchi, and Thome, and they can use that same pitcher for all 3 of them and get 3 good outs? Yes. Email it to Ozzie.
  6. Flash you should switch photos in your avatar. Cliff is no longer here. Feel free to use Freddy.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) BRIAN ANDERSON CAN'T HIT RIGHTIES! MACKOWIAK OFFENSE SPECTACULAR!!!Does anyone in the press even ask him why he keeps continuing to trot Mack out in CF on a regular basis?
  8. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) hit a homer right now Joe. Ask and you shall receive.
  9. I'm just looking forward to Mack's meaningless bases empty single later in this game. Should make up for his lousy OF play.
  10. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) Nice to see Freddy get a 1-2-3 inning. I'm sure there are more to follow.
  11. JD should get a few MVP votes. We all know who'll get the majority.
  12. DYE b****ES!! Take that Wang Chung.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) It would be nice to see someone else on the team admit they're underachieving. Mark did...oh wait, he blamed it on QwesTec (sp?).
  14. Must be nice to get a couple of impact players to spark your team at the deadline.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 07:24 PM) Anderson hit Silva pretty well and he was a sinkerballer, but I forget the young buck needs his rest. Must be nice for Brian to sit there knowing he has hit almost all his HRs and RBIs at USCF as he watches Rob misplay the ball left and right.
  16. Bash me all you want but I wouldn'd be sad if Guillen wasn't around next year. I find him to be completely useless as a manager. Preaches pitching and defense yet keeps sending out an inept backup out to CF while we have one of the best defensive CFs in the game and he hasn't learned one thing from mismanaging the pitching staff for 4 months.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) I don't have a chance to read this yet since I'm leaving work any minute, but I have to admit I've really come to enjoy VAfan's posts. Always well thought out and written. When are the next ST awards?
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) It's all good And I still think mine was better. C'mon, Apollo Creed! Yeah well I'm not always the wittiest.
  19. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:44 PM) You son of a b****. I was just about to make an almost identical joke. Mine was: Three Hail Mary's, two Our Father's, and one Apollo Creed. LMAO sorry
  20. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) So, Fransisco Liriano is out "indefinately," and I feel guilt for being happy about it... what to do what to do. Say 5 Hail Marys and 3 Ozzie Gulliens.
  21. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) Screw being excited about the wild card race, the sox are playing crappy baseball and the wild card is a joke. If my Illini are crappy in basketball next year you gonna tell me that we still have a shot at the Big 10 championship cause of the conference tournament? Several teams won as wild cards so I wouldn't call it a joke. The 1st part about the Sox playing crappy is mostly true. EDIT: You still have the best sig on this site.
  22. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 04:18 PM) The most crucial week of the season for the Sox, when they need our suport the most... and nodbody can put an ounce of faith in this team. Pathetic. So apparently right before each game Ozzie has all the players log onto Soxtalk to get the fan's perspective. Poor guys. We shouldn't be so harsh on them. It's affecting their play on the field. Give me a break. Who's booing at the games? As negative as I am on this board I am equally positive and loud at the games when I go.
  23. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) I remember like it just happened, I was in the right-center bleachers and everyone was just crazy. The Catcher's Inn exploded when that happened. Beer flying everywhere, people hugging each other, chairs getting knocked over. One of the greatest memories in my life.
  24. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Meh, never saw Caddyshack, so I withdraw my previous comment. You live a deprived existence.
  25. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 03:06 PM) Here's a nugget for ya: I called the Konerko grand slam. I just KNEW he was going to do it and I told everybody at the bar prior to the first pitch. And then, BAM. How weird is that? I find that very hard to believe. You must have been the only person to call that, aside from the 10 people near me at the Catcher's Inn on 35th.
