I hope they don't start the game prematurely, because if they can only go 3 and there's another 1-2 hour rain delay, who comes out to pitch? Adkins?

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) That game was over anyway with Rivera coming in for the 9th. Well it definitely is now. 1 run against Rivera IS possible, but not 4

7-3 Ny. UGH.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) That's what they said on the pregame. I don't live in Chi, so i have nothing to go on but the radar.

1 1/2 hour rain delay? Doesn't look that way on the radar

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Hey gang, what's the weather situation like in the city? Are we getting this one in? Oh yeah. In fact it will probably start on time. At least that's what they said in the pregame show.

QUOTE(TLAK @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) I don't understand, its the 'everyday' line up. The order is just a little juggled. No Mauer, Morneau, or Jones. I like it

A-Rod K's w/ 2 runners on. top of 6, 3-2 Toronto.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:17 AM) 3-0 Cleveland in the first inning. KC makes an error, and the Indians make them pay for it. Are you surprised?

3-1 Toronto

QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Pods, LF ... Iguchi, 2B ... Rowand, CF ... Konerko, 1B ... Dye, RF ... Everett, DH ... AJ, C ... Crede, 3B ... Uribe, SS ... Buehrle, LHP. Bears Fan Aaron Rowand was decked out in Bears apparel before the game. With batting practice cancelled because of the rain (players hit under the stands in our cages), guys sat and watched the Bears/Bengals game. Rowand lives and dies with the Bears. I would stick w/ that lineup the rest of the year!!

2-1 Toronto now.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) It's not like the Sox play in a pitcher's park. And as for Thome, I've heard the Phillies will pick up between 33 and 50 pct of his deal. You'd have to make sure he's healthy though. If we could get Thome as our DH, that would be so AWESOME!!! That's IF he's healthy -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) Felix.....no player is going to get 18 million now. If there was one player who would, it was going to be Beltran. Pujols? -

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:32 PM) Glad a packed house got to see a great game. I think this team plays much better in cooler weather. Hopefully they can carry it into October -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) So would I, but I highly doubt he has any value. If he can show he's still somewhat healthy, i think there may be a few biters out there -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:29 PM) It all matters what we want to do with Duque. If we're forced to start him, Contreras's value will never be higher than it is this offseason. Some teams will think he's the ace they've been looking for, and with one year left on his deal, he's not a huge risk. If we can trade Duque, I'd do it in a heartbeat. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) Maybe you get rid of PK, find a solid offensive 1b like Overbay or Tracy, and save some money in order to get a DH that can hit above .250. Getting rid of PK gives this team a lot of flexibility. I'm still on the Contreras and Marte for Dunn or Blalock bandwagon. I think trading Contreras in the offseason would be a bad move, unless we can upgrade are offense significantly. If not, I'd hold on to him till the AS break, and see how things play out. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:22 PM) I'd offer PK 3/36, and if he said no, I'd wish him well and look to make a trade for a 1b. I might go as high as 4/50. But thats it -

QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:20 PM) Considering the market which is available for the Sox if Konerko walks, yes. He's a good 40 HR hitter a year, something which isnt going to be available at 1b in the FA market for many years to come. I wouldn't pay him more than 12 per. period -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 06:18 PM) He started this inning with 89 pitches thrown. I'd have taken him out, but at least it's not an insane number yet. I know. But w/ this lead, this late, there's no reason for him to be in there anymore
