  1. I agree with them when they say JJ is a good shooter...great from the free throw line, and pretty good from 3. Not as good as ESPN makes him out to be, no where near the greatest 3 shooter in history...NCAA or ACC.

When you add in the rest of his game...poor in pretty much every area...not a good pass, not a good ball handler, cant create his own shots...I see a good yet extremely overhype college player with little to no pro career.

Flip the "I" and the "S" and you have a real university.

Ya I got accepted to SIU but didn't go. Too much partying and I wasn't ready to go to a big 4 year school yet, academic wise.

  3. You may be right, but I could see those limitations going away. The conference has been getting great press this season, I could see alot of top recruits giving Valley schools a better look. Chicago wont be able to be had for a while, for whatever reason the ACC plucks Chicago dry every year. But, at the same time, I could see Bradley weakening U of Illinois' hold on Peoria, and SIU, which already makes good with E. St. Louis, could branch out even more. Wichita St. could maybe start pulling recruits from Kansas and K. State, and Northern Iowa could get in bidding wars with Iowa and Iowa State. As for Creighton, branching into Oklahoma and Texas is not out of the question.

  4. Does anyone on this board go to ISU? Just wondering, I applied there today, and was wondering about like how big the campus is, if it's a nice campus, where some good places to drink beer are in Bloomington/Normal...JW, not sure if I am going to get in, but a heads up on what to do there would be awesome.

Also, Dee Brown should send 10 percent of whatever money he makes playing pro to Luther, Deron, James, and Roger....because damn is he overrated.  There I said it Illini fans, crucify me.  He's got the fame and the smile and the undeserved awards, but if he's not making 3 pointers, he's a below average player.  He was our 4th best player last year and is our 2nd best player this year.  He's been great for the school, but as a player he's overrated, by just about everybody.

I wouldn't say he's overrated, I'd say he's rated just right. Of course he is going to flourish with the supporting cast he had last year, and of course with the overturn in starters there are going to be struggles. But I want you to ask yourself something...would the Illini be as good a team as they are if D.B. wasn't running the offense?
