QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) Do you want us to look after you wife and kids, after your "unfortunate demise"? I just don't understand comments like this.. I am such a warm and friendly person.. :rolly

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:21 AM) They do it at the Bulls games cause the people they brought down sat in the row right next to where I was. Right behind the basket after the media tables. Benny the Bull and Southpaw brought them down from the upper deck. I screamed Southpaw and everyone looked at me like an idiot. Not too many people know who he is. I edited my response so I don't know if anyone saw it.. I suspect this promotion will be in effect in the near, very near, future.. As a season ticket holder I welcome it. I'm fortunate enough to have the $$ to spend $$ on tickets.. I have no problem with the casual fan getting a treat.

That's more like it.. toss a "b****" in there and all the bases are covered.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Welcome as well! And you'll be hearing a lot from Steff! She's like the Queen Bee, Mother Hen, whatever the hell you want to call it, of this board. Oye ve... tony.. the check is in the mail.. LOL

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Maybe, but it might backfire on them. People who bought the seats probably wouldn't like it too much. It's kind of like, I heard a rumor, that some season ticket holders didn't like the idea of there being so many half price nights. Can't make everyone happy. We get way better perks than half off a ticket.

QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Here's an idea: Say there's 60 Scout seats (Don't know if that's correct. Work with me here) and on a particular night they have 20 seats full. At the beginning of the game they should upgrade 40 people from "bad" seats to the scout seats as a promotional type thing. It does look bad on TV with the empty seats. Eye.. that is sooo funny you posted that.. Jim and I said the exact same thing last night. They do that in Milwaukee and it's a cool thing. FWIU they are actively pursuing it. I'd bet something like this is in place very, very soon...

QUOTE(shakes @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Steff, do you still listed to DP regularly? I can't take it without Dibble or a co-host. He's too serious now. I used to love the light heartedness of that show. When the radio is on it's on AM1000, so if I'm at my desk and he's on I listen. I don't make a point to. He's ok.. a little dry in the humor department, but most of them are. LOL And yea.. I think TLA is an idiot for continuing to support Mark. He should just remove himself from the situation and STFU about all of it. I didn't say anything about him as a coach.

QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) I've been to one this season, but I have a 3 hr. drive to get to the Cell. I'd love to have the luxury to catch an evening game after work. If I want to catch a game I have to factor in 6 hours on the road. I just would think that it's better to fill those seats, even if you're not getting the premiem price for them. I took an economics class where they evaluated leaving the seats empty on an airplane vs. taking less money for the ticket. The organization comes out ahead when they receive something (even if it's less than desired) instead of the seat being left empty. The game will be played regardless (...or the flight will leave), they might as well improve the appearence of an increase in demand for catching a game live and receive some income instead of none. Plus it would give others a chance to live it up, even if they're not in the highest economic imcome bracket. Bla, bla, bla, bla, bla. First.. welcome to the boards. Second.. 95% of the people that post here go to the games. You are preaching to the choir here in complaining about empty seats. It's not a well received argument.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Does this include beer? If yes, does this include the beer from the "beers around the world" stand ? Yep. But I don't know how many different beers they have in the bar.. I would guess they don't have all those from the around the world stand upstairs.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:46 AM) the chance of rain definitely kept people away. Kids are still in school.. and not all college students can drive 2 hours each way.. It will fill up. It always does..

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) I will say this, I was a little dissappointed in the turnout for monday and tuesday. I thought more people would show up for the 'showdown'...oh well. Plus the weather was so awesome. Mid May it'll be full.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) I plan on getting tickets to 1 game. I think it will be kick ass. I think the Sox will end up re-evaluating these seats and prices will have to drop or changes will need to be made. They can't have all those seats empty. Maybe they'll do some sort of packaging thing. I agree they will drop in price next year. We're going in July and September.. I can't wait.

QUOTE(Soxfan78 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Its not just the $175, you have to pay the $175 for 81 games. Great marketing move Sox. Wrong. And it's not $175, it's $170 and it includes parking and all you can eat and drink. Complaining about the park not being filled... :rolly How many games you been to so far..??

I'm out also.. have a good one guys..

QUOTE(winodj @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Well, from what I've read about that - I'm not so sure. I think it is important enough to note. He did a little more than just join the Hitler Youth, he fought for the Germans in 1944. He also supposedly deserted and spent a year as an American held POW. Apparently he never "faught". Got this from a friend via email so I have no idea where it's from or if it's accurate.. Ratzinger was born in Marktl am Inn, in Bavaria, the son of a police officer who was staunchly anti-Nazi. In 1937 Ratzinger's father retired and settled in the town of Traunstein. When Ratzinger turned 14 in 1941, he was required by law to join the Hitler Youth , but according to his biographer John Allen he was not an enthusiastic member. In 1943, at the age of 16 he was, along with the rest of his class, drafted into the Flak or anti-aircraft corps, responsible for the guarding of a BMW plant outside Munich. He was then sent for basic infantry training and was posted to Hungary, where he worked setting up anti-tank defences until he deserted in April 1944 (an offence punishable by death). In 1945 he was briefly held in an Allied POW camp. By June he was released, and he and his brother (Georg) entered a Catholic seminary.

Kid.. is that mofo registered...?? If he is.. I would suggest posting the website with maybe the phrase "Do you know all you need to about your neighbors...?" That way you're not attacking him directly.. but you are getting the message out LOUD AND CLEAR that you know who he is and what he has done. I gotta be honest.. I hope he is forced to move from your neighborhood. They should move all those jerkoffs to their own little island in the middle of the ocean.

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) Perhaps not, and I can appreciate where you're coming from. But the reality is that, like it or not, this guy does have Constitutional rights now that he's out of prison. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong... but it's the law. As much as he may deserve it, forming a lynch mob and chasing him out of town isn't the solution. This is a particularly unfortunate scenario because, as you mentioned before, sexual predators most often DO NOT change their ways. I wish that we had a legal solution. Thanks for the reply..

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) You don't sound like a b****, you sound intelligent. Thank you Kalapse. I've been faced with people on both sides of the fence... I'll glady be called every name in the book to keep a child safe. For all the little children like Jessica Lunsford who was raped and murdered by a REPEAT OFFENDER who had "done his time"..

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) What I wouldn't do is harass him. He may be a sicko, but he's done his time. Would you feel that way if it was your child molested...??? I'm not trying to start an argument here.. but I thought that way prior to knowing someone who has been abused. I've read so many articles that show time and time and time again that these sicko's are NEVER cured of their "desire" for children.
-
After learning literally just 20 minutes ago that one of my girlfriends uncles has been indicted for molestation... I say post away.. put them everywhere and anywhere. From what I have read over and over again these types of individuals DO NOT change.. they continue to abuse children until they get caught.. and in my girlfriends case it took 20+ years for that asshole to get caught. I'm sorry.. I'm sure I sound like a total b****.. but after this experience.. and that asshold Couhey in Florida and the countless other children I have read about being abused by REPEAT offenders.. I say lock them up and NEVER let them out.
-
I don't know how she did it.. I may act tough.. but I think I would crawl in a hole and die if faced with something like this. I am so happy I am balling here at my desk...

My girlfriend who's uncle molested her years ago.. was indicted (sp?) today!!! He wants to plea, they are refusing. He's going to jail baby!!!

QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) FWIW, the priest that married my wife and I knew that we were co-habitating prior to our wedding (the obvious implication being pre-marital sex) and had absolutely no problem with it. The church is hurtin for members in the US. They look the other way on many things as long as you attend and give. IMO.
