I sure hope she took the deduction!!! EIC is an additional credit, which she should have gotten.. as well as head of household... (from what you've told me she should get that). The deduction gets taken off the gross income from the get go. She better have taken it.. it's hers to take.

If I understand correctly... the first claiming year there is an additional 4K credit (did it used to be 6K per child..?) After that it's the standard deduction. In '04 I believe the credit went up to 7K per child so I wonder if adoptive parents will get a 11K credit... Someone with kids want to enlighten us?

    April Fools

Howard Stern just pulled off the mother of all pranks.... They had Tom read a statement this morning that Howard was taken off the air late last night and replaced with these two douche bags.. the second they let the word "asshole" slip I knew it was a gag, but I was worried. They suck though.. wish it was tomorrow already.

If you want infants.. unless you have a LOT of scratch to spend... you're going to have to adopt mixed or foreign. My co worker just adopted Korean twins and they are very happy and the experience was good. They tried to adopt from China and that was bad - no details, just that it was "bad". I hear that there are a lot of african american infants "avaliable" but I really have no idea for sure. That sure is a wonderful thing if you guys do it.
  7. OK.. so it went up $1.50 in 2 years.. that sounds about right. At least it aint $6!!
  8. Ahhhhh.. that's for one of those fancy beers, eh..?
  9. Whew.. I thought I was losing my mind. I wonder why it's so expensive at the Oakland facility..
  10. Holy crap.. no s***?!?! That's insane. Everything in Florida was much less expensive. I haven't been to AZ in 2 years.. has it really gotten that bad...??? Is it like that everywhere? Anyone else..? Aboz..?

    Ring Question

    Oink, oink, oink...
  12. I completely agree... my advice is for those that don't want to go the $10K route. For me.. we bought a place first and lived in sin (should have paid closer attention to that sin part...). We had 238 people at our wedding in 1995.. in March (off season) and still paid over $10K. Did it the way we (I) wanted to do it - like I could be stopped . In thinking back - as he was booted to the curb a short time later.. - I would have definitely done things differently. His stupid mother just HAD to invite ALL the people from her work.. :headshake and he had to invite ALL the guys on the softball teams... all FOUR teams :banghead . Now I think differently (probably cause it's the second time around). A nice week in Antigua sounds much more appealing to me than a bunch of people I barely know dancing the conga with me on "my special day"...

    Ring Question

Holy s*** I missed this the first time around!!! This is a GREAT gift!!!
  14. Hey.. more power to those who want to. IMO.. it's a total waste. Considering most newleyweds are just about to, or have just, bought their first residence it's a huge financial burden. The wedding and marriage in general is stressful enough.. what's the point in burying yourself in debt..? For the record.. I did have one of those stupid $10K+ weddings. Now I just shake my head at all the other things we could have done with that money. :headshake The day is about you.. not how much you paid for tablecloths.. and trust me.. you WILL always remember how much you paid for them..
  15. You mean at TEP...? Beers.. in the plastic bottles, IIRC, are $3.00. Can someone who was just there confirm? At Disney's WWOS where the Braves call home beers were $2.75 for 12oz cans (and they GAVE us the can!!) and bottles were 16oz $3.50. Hot dogs were $1.50 and peanuts $2.00. Very reasonable, IMO. Heck.. at Cane County the cups of beers are only $3.50. I think they are 16oz... And the parking is a LOT cheaper also. Free at Disney if we didn't park in the preferred (which was $5.00) and we didn't pay over $3.00 anywhere else we went while in Florida.
  16. OMG.. do NOT spend $10K on a wedding. No friggin way!! When do you plan on doing this PA..? And how soon do you think you might plan the event..? My sister has a TON of stuff on her home computer from when I helped her plan her wedding (a little over 4 years ago - but still 80 guests, just UNDER $5K). It's very easy to plan a wedding for right around $50 a person. Just have to know some shortcuts. Let me know and I'll have her send me some stuff to forward to you.
  17. I'm gonna call her right now.... In all honesty.. you can get a great ring for $2K. And it really doesn't matter anyway.. it's from you, and the reasoning, thought, and love behind it is all that really matters.
  18. PA... I'm totally kidding.. I hope you know that.
  19. I'm 5'6" 112 this morning and I have 2.23 cts.. looks fine on me. It's all in the setting.
  20. You quoted me before I edited.. but both answers work
  21. That'll work if you plan on screwing it and not your wife the rest of your relationship..
  22. ROTFLMAO Cheat!!!! Seriously... no less than 2 cts, princess cut, set in Platinum is my advice..
  23. I believe they are included with the "whites" due to lack of space on the tally sheet.. Seriously, I have no idea. Just speculating.
  24. 117 miles to be exact.. BTW Seal.. and a wee bit OT.. is that Veek person over at WSI really as annoying as I've been hearing..
