  1. well verlander is missing his sunday start b/c of "arm fatigue" but basically they say they want to give him rest sometime down the stretch and this is a good time to do it, going to be back for next friday start against unfortunetly, us. And soxace, watch him pitch, he blows everyone away, last 10 starts he hasn't allowed over 4er. He has better stuff than any of our starters this year, that i know.
  2. I think we just gotta give up about the tigers unless we play em, and then still look to be gaining on the Wild card. I give huge props to Det. they play EVERY game like its life or death and pull out so many games. Verlander is a stud so he's gonna stop any losing streaks.
  3. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Every team came back today. Yanks, Twins, Tigers, Red Sox. It really blows. You can actually say we did too though. hold on the twins, 4-3 kc although i'm sure they will screw it up somehow, gotta give them credit for a 4 spot on santana in one inning, pretty much all singles/bloopers.
  4. cleveland luckily might get outa the 8th with only 1 run. Soo deserves major props if they hold onto this one
  5. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) No, he's trying to be safe at first. And he succeeded. well. im stupid, but lord he's 230LBS thats scary
  6. konerko tryin to end his season.. jesus we don't need that
  7. DAMNIT, can't watch espn tonight. ortiz late inning go ahead homer....
  8. HUGE catch by Soo by cleveland on maggs liner to right field.. WEB GEM, still 1st and 3rd 1 out though

  10. wow, base hit by buck, now kc gets 2 in on a single, 4-3 against santana
  11. swithced over to twins game, bases loaded 1 out single, only 1 run in though
  12. if there's a tough play to be made, then uribe's your guy. Well done there ole pal. oooo crede too. mmm defense
  13. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) I heard someone speculating today that Glavine is the guy that will stop it. I guess Utley hasn't fared too well against him. 1 for 10 lifetime.. but utley kills lefties i believe so in my opinion its only a random 10 at bats
  14. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) El duque just tripled.... also utley hitless.. El Duque brings magic
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Garland needs to shut them down at the bottom of this inning. Its something the staff has had a problem with the last several weeks. You are correct sir
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:31 PM) Yes I agree he can't get a ground ball every time. It would have been nice to get one instead of that long fly ball on the 3-2 pitch to Glaus though. I'll agree with that. Lets go sox. good job by jim and paul
  17. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:26 PM) The point was, how about our pitchers pitching over the inevitable bumps in the road, whatever they might be. And as I have been commenting ad nauseum, it's all about execution ... whether that's a position player or a pitcher. Rowand wasn't great in CF last year, how did the White Sox survive that? Not saying he was bad, but you were beating the drum about how awful his throws were and some of his other fundamentals ... namely his reads on fly balls. How did the White Sox survive? You guessed it, pitching. Guillen has his best IF defense in there tonite. Seems kinda appropriate for a ground ball pitcher, no? cmon jim, yes he's got a great IF out there. but is jon gonna get a ground ball every damn time... theres WEAK Def CF out there and its cost us this game so far. thats the bottom line. Garland has given us pretty solid pitching so far. I love Mack. but he doesn't deserve to play this much Cf
  18. QUOTE(zenryan @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) Detroit doesnt mean anything to us anymore. TB is winning 2-1 ding ding ding
  19. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) Yes I agree there are only so many they're expected to pitch over. How about we start with one? In the first inning? On a 3-2 big fat changeup to a power hitter? Again, it comes down to pitching, where is the hue and cry about the pitch call and the bad pitch? Hey, I've tried to be opptomistic a majority of the time, and my posts from alot of threads can bear that out. But really people are jumpy on this issue not because they dislike mack but they just want BA in there basically every game with the roster we have. thats it. and If BA makes that catch you just never know what the score is right now.
