  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 06:26 AM) Haven't the Angels already said that PK will be their number one target in the offseason? We're going to outbid Anaheim? No, we're not. PK will get more money than he's worth, a lot more. And that will mean that we'll have to get a 1B (or possibly 3B) through a trade. That's fine by me. I've been saying that Konerko has had his foot out the door ever since he took a completely selfish approach at the plate the first three months of the season. The guy was and still is looking for a big payday, and I don't mean the candy bar, though that wouldn't surprise me either since he's a fat piece of crap. I know what the Sox should do: sign the great Herbert Perry. Talk about a fat piece of crap! You can't seriously diss PK and and be a Herbert Perry fan. Quite frankly, your affinity for Herbert Perry is a little scary. Are you on meds?
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) MVP: Paul Konerko. Enough said. AJ Pierzynski is a close runner up for me simply because how he has handled the pitching staff throughout the year. CY Young: I dont really care what you say, but Mark Buehrle. Whether he's been down or up, he's carried the staff (I know I'm going to hear s*** about this one) Most Improved: Jon Garland. Isnt really a question, considering he might have turned his career around. Most Pleasant Surprise: Cliff Politte. Simply dominant out of the pen. Biggest Disappointment: Shingo Takatsu. I was expecting him to have a great year this year, and he ended up being released. I agree with everything you said although I would take Hermanson as my runner-up to Konerko. As much as I liked Shingo, his collapse killed us and without Hermie we would have been screwed.
  3. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Frank has had two healthy seasons in the last five. No offensive problems are solved at all with your solution. For some reason I think he's going to come back strong. Dye in the 5 spot will get PK some better pitches. If Frank can't come back then they need to find a solid #3, and I think they'll be o.k. Regardless of what happens, this lineup does not need an overhaul just a tweak or two. I wouldn't mind seein Gload at first tonight batting #3 and PKat DH.
  4. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) ok, then who hits cleanup lol Also, we had great attendance numbers this year... I wouldn't be suprised to see a bump in the payroll. Reinsdorf knows letting Paulie walk will be yet another one of his PR blunders (that is unless Konerko is asking for an unreasonable contract). I find it hard to believe that we have so many Sox fans that have turned into bean counters. Our payroll has risen and after this year I think it will go up more too. With that said, Assuming Frank doesn't come back, which for some reason I think Ozzie would love that, we are going to be left with Dye and GULP! Everett. Konerko is defineately worth 12 million for 4 years, and If they can work out something with Frank (short-term incentive laiden contract) we can have Frank hitting 3, PK at 4, and Dye at 5. Offensive problem solved.
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) For all the lineups that have Giles, Konerko AND Furcal in it, dream on. We'll be lucky to have 1 one of those guys in our team next season. No because he goes to the media during a pennant race and tells everyone "I don't have any confidence right now." Is that a guy you want to go to war with? How many times has he been picked off and thrown out? No arm either. Sorry but Pods is way overrated.
  6. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) He needs to worry about making the playoffs right now instead of his contract. He looks like the only guy on this team that has any confidence and hunger right now. If we don't make the playoffs he's the last guy that should be critisized.
  7. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) No thanks. I suppose you wouls rather have Ross Gload? Pk has been our only hitter this year and his recent slump was moving to third with Everett hitting behing him. His #'s have been unreal when you consider he's had no protection this year.
  8. An article in The Sporting News revealed that PK seems a liitle pissed about not having his new contract straightened out. If we loose him and Frank, I'll be really pissed.
  9. Guys we definately keep; Konerko Thomas Garland Guys to get rid of: Marte Everett Pods El Douche Bag Ozzie Harold "smelling salts" Baines Walker Cora and just about the entire bench except Anderson. Also, get a real left fielder somewhere.
  10. I've been hoping for this for a while now. one of Ozzie's few good adjustments, although I'd rather see rowand at 3. I've always felt that if PK had a legit #3 and #5 to protect him, he'd have more RBI's and a better average. Everett is mediocre and AJ is a #7 IMO. At least with Dye at 5, PK might see better pitches and not have to rely on walks. God only knoes why OG put him at the 3 spot when he was the hottest hitter in the league. At any rate, I lool for PK and Dye to start picking up the slack. If only we had Frank our offense would rock: 3 Frank 4 Paul 5 Dye
