Use Nelson against Frank late in the game... Frank Thomas (career stats vs. Jeff Nelson): 30 AB (4 hits) .133 AVG .237 OBP .167 SLG .404 OPS 0 HR 4 RBI 5 BB 11 K I would not be surprised if Frank's offensive explosion last night was the main reason Nelson was called up so soon.

Also, didn't Crede start at SS and then get ejected so Dye had to play some SS?

It was a hilarious interview. North explicitly asked Rothschild what Prior's injury was and he responded with talking about Prior's two previous injuries (his collision with Marcus Giles and getting hit in the elbow by that linedrive). He said that those are hard things for a young pitcher to overcome. Rothschild never once said what Prior's current injury is/was. The Cubs are such a joke. They are masters of the injury coverup.

Thornton was horrible for two seasons with the Mariners -- he walked the world just like he did in the minors. Expecting him to suck was not exactly a crazy nor a stupid prediction -- it was the reasonable response.
