  1. He was practicing for several weeks before the Steelers game. I read an article that the coach indicated he was ready to start if needed by the Steelers game but Orton was the starting QB by then and it was his to lose. From that point on Orton still started 3 of the last 4 regular season games, although not the playoff game.
  2. Read it more closely. He says Rex is starting QB going into training camp, NOT going into the regular season. First sign. Secondly he talks about how much Orton will improve in his 2nd or 3rd years. Second sign. He refers to how much the experience of playing a year will benefit Kyle, etc......It is very easy to see where this is all headed. So yes Kyle is definitely the starter next year, and Rex should get out of the NFL as fast as possable, since he is currently in a place there is atleast a mirage he would have been an NFL starting QB at some point without his injuries, if he stays he will only be seen losing the starting QB job to one of the worst starting QBs in the World and his stock will gradualy fall so low even the CFL and NFL Europe wont pay him as much, or want him as a starter as much.
  3. The guy has even been replaced as starter on his team by a career backup. I am glad to see him exploited as the overhyped pretty boy he has always been.

  5. I know he was injured but even when he was ready after several weeks of practice and reps to be starter again, he only started 2 of 5 games including his playoff start. Orton started 2, with Rex coming in on 1 of them, then Rex 1, then Orton 1, then the playoff game Rex started. So he started the minority of the games even when he was ready to start again according to the coaches. Plus he only got to start since Orton lost the job with a horrable game and a half. Plus the GM has basicaly gauranteed Orton is the starting QB next year in a recent interview, so the writing is on the wall. Rex has never been a starting QB in the NFL and never will be, his stock is high enough right now he should bite the bullet and become a starting regular in another top league like the CFL or NFL Europe rather than drop to a #3 or #4 QB in a few years in the NFL, wishing he had done something else.
  6. Rex should really retire from NFL football. He is not good enough to be an NFL QB and we see that with his inactivity in the NFL so far. He has started only 6 regular season games in 3 years. He has even lost his starting job to the lowly pathetic Kyle Orton. He has no future in the NFL and should head to NFL Europe or the CFL before his stock falls too low they dont want him.
  7. Yeah that would be great if he does.
  8. I think Buehrle or Garland have a great shot at it.
  9. I am not even from Chicago. I am a Canadian. I became a fan of the White Sox during their playoff run last year. It wasnt because they won so much, it is because I like to cheef for the underdogs and the teams that are overlooked. The media seems to like to hype the Yankees, Red Sox, and even the Cubs, and it bores me to death. Of course I am thrilled they won though. I was cheering for them.
  10. Will he be hitting in the bottom of the order? I am guessing the order will be similar to last year except for Iguichi moving to a 6 or 7 spot, and Uribe taking his old place. Since he is a rookie if he plays great defence and just produces solid hitting that should be seen as a good start, but better than that would be great obviously. The guy he is replacing didnt have a great year with the bat last year so expectations probably wont be too high.
  11. Dont worry I am not scared of anything. I am glad I managed to entertain some people.
  12. I predict a White Sox picture will win the Cy Young next year, not sure which one, but one of them will!
  13. I bet he will not be signed either after 2006 or 2007, not sure which year.
  14. I agree as long as they can find another team that needs a starting 3rd baseman in 2 or 3 years(whenever Fields replaces him), or he can be converted to a utility infielder if that team does not have an opening at 3rd base. The good news for him as a free agent he would make MUCH more money than he does right now, especialy as a starting 3rd baseman on another team.
  15. In any case if Fields is ready to come up to the big leagues before the end of the 08 season, do you think they try to send Crede to the minors hoping he clears waivers, or they let him go off and be a free agent since they still own his rights until then?
  16. It will be interesting to see if he stay healthy enough to start 140-145 games this year, something he didnt do last year. I do think Josh Fields will replace him as the starting 3rd baseman next year though. It will be interesting if they try to send Crede to the minors next year, taking the risk he wont clear waivers since he will be 28, try to trade him, dont take the salary arb. making him a free agent, or just use him as a utility infielder next year?
  17. Good point. Then again also feel thankful since our whipping boy in Toronto was Eric Hinske, who would you rather have, Joe Crede or Erik Hinske?
  18. Alot of interesting answers. I agree he tends to go into some horrable monthly slumps. I would like to see him reduce those. All players flucuate in their level at some point in the year, but to have fewer below-par dropoffs, and less severe ones is the keys, and more of those hot periods too. I was just wondering if they take the fact he gets fewer games and fewer at bats into account when looking at his HRs and RBIs into account. Also I hear alot of negativity around him, that unless he drasticaly improves he will be gone after this year, and the fact he was signed to only a 1-year contract at not too high a salary(I thought it might be around 3 million)is a sign of that too I would have thought. I am Canadian so I have no choice but to follow the Toronto Blue Jays alot, and we would have killed to have had a 3rd baseman that hit 22 homers in only 432 at bats, and along with Rodriguez and 1 or 2 others played the best defence of any 3rd baseman in the league, and who peaks for key games. That is why I am a bit surprised whenever I read critical articles of him coming from Chicago, but then again now that Chicago are the World Series Champions their standards probably go far up.
  19. I am just curious what White Sox fans and management want out of Crede since my general impression seems they are unhappy with him and his production in alot of ways. His batting % and slugging % are not too good so they probably want those things improved. For somebody who only got 430 at bats last year and will probably only get about 430 at bats this year, wouldnt 22 home runs and 61 RBIs be reasonable? After all that would translate into 30 home runs and 80 RBIs for somebody who was getting 580 at bats. He is one of the best defensive 3rd baseman in the league. So I am just curious what he would have to do, and improve upon to impress people and keep his job?
