  1. all owens has to do is catch the ball, and he can clearly do that. owens just seems to fit the mold of what ozzie likes more than anderson. i like anderson, and beleive he will be a future star, but owens has a LEGIT shot at the job i think
  2. owens doesnt suck on defense, he only had 3 errors last season for the barons, and i bet with that speed, he has made some spectacular plays. but, he does have a noodle arm, which worries me a little. but, if he can hit at the major league level, and doesnt make dumb mistakes on the base paths/ in the field, i think he would be a pretty good fit
  3. all you guys do is f***ing rip on me. knock it off, fighting on a f***ing message bored is retarded. that said, i have no problem with anderson, its just that owens fits the mold that ozzie seems to like, fast, and more fast. i think he has a solid chance at the starting job, but if we go with anderson, i have no problem
  4. am I the only sox fan in this forum who happens to beleive that jerry owens should be our starter in center? with him batting second, if he can hit .285 OR higher, and steal 20 bases, then our lineup would be that much more dangerous. case in point, owens would create a lot more opportunities for konerko/thome/dye to get rbi's, and we would sequatially score more runs
  5. in case your wondering what i meant by my last reply, i meant that as of right now, our staff is deep, and therefor eliminates the threat of injury a little, that makes it scary, as opposed to with out MB
  6. i dont think buehrle is BETTER than any other ace in baseball. i think buehrle is a legit ace who means a lot to this team, with out him, our pitching is still good, still possibly the best, but not scary any more, and for the record, i neverEXPECT trades, i often hope for them though
  7. zito is consistent, jose is good. id rather have zito, but thats mostly for the age factor. wut kills me is that all these new yorkers flattering themselves, thinking they have the 2 best teams in the MLB when actually i think the white sox will man handle both of them! our pitching is at least worth twice as much as either of these teams! even with pedro and RJ, but if you look at it, who else do they have! we have 5 good starters, they have 1 each!
  8. I just read on phillies.com that a phillies fan expected the white sox to give up buehrle for abreu and gavin floyd. first off gavin floyd mentioned in the same breath as mark buehrle? i dont think so. second, buehrle is damn affordable for a pitcher of his calliber, and i dont think that we were gonna add 5 million dollars for a player that slid in the second half! (abreu)
  9. i was at that crede and dye game, and i looked away just as the pitch was delivered to dye, next thing i knew the ball was gone, and we won, i looked at my sister, and just started screaming. but the best game of the season was defianitely the crede game, two absolute BOMBS to help, and acttually WIN THE GAME!!!!
  10. I just read on whitesox.com that paul konerko has accepted the captainship of the '06 white sox, despite having serious concerns about the effect it oculd have on the team. Personally i beleive he deserves the 'c', he is the spiritual and physical leader of our team. our one and only super star. he is a humble super star at that! so as for konerko being the captain? i say, the team loves him any ways, so why not award him for taking less money to play for the white sox!
  11. I don't think that we will loose much defensively with anderson in center over rowand, i think it all depends on andersons offensive input as to whether we will be better. it is also amazingly hard for me to imagine thome at any less than 30 homers and a .350 OBP
  12. i meant that guillen is better than manuel, wich is obviously true, considering guillen has a ring, and manuel doesnt
  13. i have had my season tickets (actually my dads) since 2000, they are amazing, 3rd baseline right behind the home dugout
  14. jon has very good sttuff, not dominating, but it is good. he can get guys out, and i think he turned the proverbial corner last season. garland should rely a little more on his heater (93-95) than that sinker is just sick, and unfair for batters. if he puts it all together, using everything at his disposal, he could be a 20 game winner. if he attacks the hitter than i will be forced to admit, he has A LOT more potential than MB will ever have. MB has medicore stuff (minus his change) but he wins, y? because he knows HOW to pitch, if garland learns what MB already knows, chalk up 17+wins a season, because he willl just be an amazing pitcher
  15. i agree about the manuel statement. the only young guy we had he liked was MB, and that was because he was fairly effective right out of the gate. guillen>manuel
