  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:29 PM) Just because someone decided to create some silly role at some point in time doesn't mean you should take out a starter that is dominating and has only thrown 77 pitches. Should we never allow a SP to throw a complete game? Apparently, only if you are up by 4 or more.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:23 PM) That number is disputed Ah, interesting. Makes sense. 58 is just insane. 2 pitches per out.
  3. Wow! 77 through 8! Anyone know the record for least pitches through 9?
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) His upper body/momentum left early...but his foot was still in contact with the bag, so Darling or Jerry Meals were definitely wrong. Umpires weren't in a great position to see the play, and strange for the 3B ump to defer to the home plate ump when he should have been the one to make the call. Jesus, Ethier is playing the hell out of RF today. When did he defer to the home plate ump? He immediately called the guy out.
  5. God damn you Either! Three web gems out there.
  6. Haha, Rios gets a PO for that appeal. That's kind of funny.
  7. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) how is it 1-0? farmer said they tied it up, am I in the bizarro world? He left third too early. The White Sox appealed, twice, and he was called out. Run came off the board.
  8. This is the pitching gem we thought we were going to get on Friday. Baseball is funny sometimes.
  9. 69 pitches through 7 for Quintana. Wow. What a gem from him today.
  10. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:06 PM) They have 5 hits! One of which was a 3rd career bunt single and another was a split second from being an out.
  11. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:05 PM) Because that's how trucks are able to roll their tape. Again, amazing what technology can do. Lol, okay. Whatever that means.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) It's the 21st century. They just did it on the replay. Not too hard to pull that off. I didn't see any timestamps. How do you know the two views were synced? Something like being a millisecond off could make a difference in this situation. Just because they show you two views does not prove they were synced accurately. No syncing with the human eye.
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:58 PM) And why is that? That's a black and white play where nothing else is affected. Because it requires two views that have to be synced up on the fly. If the umpire does his job, that's an easy call for him.
  14. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) He was tossed a while ago, just didn't leave. Not sure what you're talking about. Oh he was? I didn't see that then, and the Dodger announcer didn't point it out, I guess.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) That's a huge call. Gotta give him his two cents worth. They gave him a quarter, at least.
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) Clearly Mattingly went and saw the replay, knew it was wrong, then came out. Now THAT'S a play where replay could easily be put in. That should never be allowed to be replayed.
  17. Wow. Grow a pair and toss him. What in the hell was that.
  18. What in the f*** did I just see? Where was the misunderstanding there? How many outs? The third base umpire CLEARLY called him out. Then they just stood there. Way to go, whoever called for that appeal! 1-0 Sox!
  19. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) But he has a negative UZR remember It's like, June 17th.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) Correct, and outside of benching AJ today and someone like De Aza, I don't get the lineup today at all. Yeah, I got home in the top of the 2nd, and I was so confused as to what he was thinking. Hopefully we figure it out the third time around and get some runs. Q is dealing right now.
