  1. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:26 PM) Wow, this feels like the Purdue Men's basketball season. Team finally starts looking dominant and HA THERE GOES ROBBIE HUMMEL. Good news is, he's well on his way to being healthy and ready for next year.. BOILER UP! No offense, but why do you only show up at extremely s***ty moments?
  2. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:20 PM) And its gone! What does this mean?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) He said he heard a pop! Oh boy, see you in 2012 Jake...lots of positive vibes just went out the window. Who said that?
  4. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:15 PM) Its only for those who make the AS team right? No, you can be in the Har contest even if you're not on the team...
  5. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:10 PM) It doesn't even matter, I doubt he makes it with f***ing Youk and Swish. There just isn't anywhere near the excitement there was for 05 and Scotty or in 06 with punch AJ. I think most of us fans don't even give a s*** anymore either, because we feel PK should have been there to begin with and we just all hate the Allstar Game as a whole. Did he say he would only do it if he makes the team?
  6. Damn, I know Votto deserves to be in the ASG, but CarGo is freaking raking lately too...
  7. Oh no...PK is considering the HR contest?
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) That Rangers game is still in a delay. Not good. Restarting now...I want to see the replay!
  9. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) Dammit, thanks for NOTHING, Toronto! I'm never putting maple syrup on my salad for Canada Day ever again! Go, you Orange Birds! The home plate umpire was giving Jon Rauch a 30-inch plate
  10. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) Holy s*** a fan fell from the upper deck in Texas while reaching for a foul ball Oh my...
  11. Hah, Dweezy just robbed Kubel of extra bases...
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:13 PM) I disagree especially with your first sentence. And to beat Rivera with a 3 run homer the other day and make a great catch tonight and hit another bomb. Yes these are just 2 instances, arguably providing the Jays with more than Beckham say has given us all this season. Some guys belong as the last guy on the roster. This guy fits the bill as a last roster outfielder, pinch runner, late inning fielder, whatever. Some say the hatred is because Ozzie started him and led him off to start the season. well you are all smart baseball people. The hate should be all on Ozzie. I doubt a high school kid could bash a homer off Rivera and roam center like he can. This guy isn't as good a hitter as Teahen I will admit that. I am all for keeping Teahen, but not crazy having Teahen start, especially at third. Wise can draw a paycheck as he's doing and feel like he's earning it, though. I do not classify him as a bum. Ok, well, I tried to be nice about it. You're just wrong, Greg, and not even worth another moment of my time debating it with you.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) Uh the uniform he is wearing begs to differ. He is playing ... and excelling tonight in the big leagues. He is a quality bench guy. How can you not see that? There is value in his speed and glove and occasional pop. He had some big hits for the white sox as well as THE CATCH. I like Wise. Some of you act like praising him for the catch is a bad thing. It was a great great moment in Sox history. WTF. Greg, every baseball player that has made it this far along the ranks of professional baseball to have played in Major League games is probably a pretty solid athlete in some sense of the word. Many are great fielders. Many are decent fastball hitters. Some have great arms. If they didn't have some pretty amazing talent, especially when compared to you, or me or Kyle, they would have never progressed as far along in high school and/or college ball, and then into professional baseball as they have. However, simply because certain guys may have some pretty amazing athletic abilities does not in any way qualify them, based on that alone, to be one of the best 750 or so best baseball players in the world. Yes, DeWayne is fast and can run down a fly ball very well. But that doesn't mean he should hold one of the 14 non-pitching roster spots on a Major League baseball team! I could probably go down to the local high school and hold tryouts and find quite a few guys that run down fly balls awfully well. But unless you can hit (or at least get on base) at some minimal threshold (usually at least 32-33% of the time), you simply are not going to occupy one of these roster spots for long. We have nothing personal against DeWayne, and in fact, he will always hold a special place in many of our hearts. But he simply is not a good major league hitter, and thus, will not experience a long career in the major leagues, despite your insistence that he deserves to.
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 06:42 PM) Still begs the question if Wade will come to Chicago to be the 2nd highest paid player behind Bosh. This point is the ONLY worthwhile point Bucher has made thus far, and he made it nearly a week ago.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 05:30 PM) The Bulls only hope is that the cavs missing out on Bosh means LBJ can tell Cleveland that he tried, but was unable to lure the players he needed to stay in Cleveland and because of that he'll be going to Chicago where he'll have that opportunity (joining Noah/Rose/and one of Bosh/Boozer/Lee). What would truly make my day is if LeBron and Wade both said the hell with Bosh and left their respective cities and came to Chicago
  16. QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Jamshack, don't make me verbally berate you. I would love the opportunity to see you verbally berate me via a message board. Secondly, my apologies for making an example of you, but you are like the 3rd or 4th person to come in and announce that Quentin was scratched from the lineup in the last 2 hours. All I ask is that you do a quick scan to see if the news you plan on "breaking" has been posted previously. Now go back to figuring out how you are going to verbally berate me.
  17. QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:12 PM) Don't know if this was mentioned yet, but Quentin was a late scratch because of his knee from the dive yesterday. Let's hope he's ok. And never thought I'd say this, but i'm actually looking forward to Teahen returning w/ the sole hope that Guillen will use him as the left-handed DH instead of Kotsay. Let's play READ THE DAMN THREAD, PLEASE.
  18. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) LBJ just doesnt want to go anywhere or the Cavs are overconfident that LBJ doesnt want to go anywhere. Which is it? Sounds like both to me.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) I hate Boozer's game with a passion. Adding him to the Bulls, along with Redick would be spending a lot of money for a team with a ceiling around 5th place in the Eastern Conference. So if you get shutout of the big 3, who else do you sign? Do you want to just sit out next year
  20. At this point I'm tempted to tell all three of them to go f*** themselves and just sign Boozer and Reddick and save the rest of the damn money for a possible trade later on.
  21. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 03:41 PM) And apparently, if the Bulls got Bosh and Wade, they'd be like the TrailBlazers from two years ago. Is this guy seriously thinking this stuff is actually legit? Well the thing is, he actually said earlier that they know they would dominate...so I'm confused...
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:38 PM) Rios better get back in the lineup. So that's the problem! Beckham's bat is injured!
  23. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Bucher must have no heart, all he talks about is money, money, then some more money. I think he's just looking at things from the perspective of the players. If it weren't about money, this would all be sorted out by now.
  24. I don't think anyone in the league would take him, to be honest.
