I just saw that we do not play the Tigers at all until after the AS break I am hoping by then they will have cooled off and fallen out of contention to have started selling.....that will help us win games against them.....last year the losses against them hurt us the most But now with 18 games against them when they might be out of it would be cool
-
At least you will get the 17 games the Sox will play the Tigers

Maggs denies that he denied the 5 yr 70M deal

I would love Finley....but that means Crede will have to sit come playoff time....which is fine with me Uribe will play 3rd B in the playoffs, Willie at 2b This lineup would be awesome come playoffs Willie H Uribe Frank T Maggs Finley (to break up all of our RH bats, this would be a good spot for him) C Lee Valentin (break up the righties again) Paulie K Olivo If a LH pitcher is starting the game (eg Mulder), then we sit Valentin and let Crede play -
The Cheat Thanks for the facts.....I guess I was too hard on him. I was wrong. But I still have issues with his constant walks and wild pitches....I have cooled down since being mad at losing this game.....let's see what he does going forward.....but he better not walk lead off men in tight games anymore

Correct...if we get someone other than a pitcher it better be a LH bat or a switch hitter whose better side is the LH side (like Everett) -
Given this is a 12:30 game for us West coast folks, I would like to start this thread right now Time to avoid the sweep Mulder

Mike Cameron is only good when he plays against us.....so no thanks -
"I just read the paper and that's a lie," Ordonez said. "I don't know who said that and why they said I want to go to the Mets. We're still talking." Sox general manager Ken Williams said last week the thought of trading Ordonez at some point this season hasn't crossed his mind. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...home-headlines1

Jordanfan Cotts has already lost us 3 games on his own Anyone can pitch when we have a 5 run lead, which is the position he pitches in most of the time Show me something with the game on the line when you have to make pitches...he has shown me squat there
-
Kip is decent, but he is no #1....I remember after the 2000 season how we supposedly had the best minor league pitching staff in the world Yeah riiiiggghhhhttttt
-
Which is exactly why I said in my other thread that we need to get one stud reliever at the deadline Maybe Cotts will be fine in time, but if we are going for it this year, we cannot afford to take the growing pains with him
-
Jreedfan Maybe it is my frustration talking here....but pray tell me what you see in this guy? I am so tired of hearing about our hyped up pitching kids in the minors none of which amount to anything (except for Buerhle) Kip Wells, Dan Wright, Josh Fogg, Kevin Bierne etc etc and now this guy Get his WHIP #s and take a look at them. The guy just cannot pitch when it counts. Adkins has shown me more than this guy has.
-
What do people see in this guy? He has to walk someone every inning (and very likely the lead off man).....he has major control issues throwing wild pitches .....and he has no real strike out pitch....he does not throw more than 90 with his fast ball Why the hell is he so hyped up? Look at the other guy the As threw out there ....that guy looked like a young stud with his Zito-esque breaking ball
-
Kong is overpaid but unless we plan on getting Palmeiro what is the point of giving up your 1st B and lose some O production for a pitcher It is not like the teams that will be selling would like to take on Paulie Think about the times when we were sellers at the trade deadline.....did anyone of you want a Paulie type of guy in return? Most sellers are small market teams with small payrolls....they always want cheap, young talent, not expensive vets that are overpaid Kong is not a franchise player for anyone. I bet we get our pitching by moving some prospects, not someone like Paulie Now Maggs may be dangled due to his FA issues
-
That was speculation....again I do not believe the Ms would give up Garcia for a Jose Valentin
-
I doubt we could get Garcia for Jose

When will Willie Harris get his first dinger?
sox-r-us replied to sox-r-us's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree we do not need him to hit for the fences....but it sure would be fun to see him round the bases Maybe he will get an inside the park HR.....with his speed, very possible -
Do we really need to trade for any non-pitcher?

The thought of Shingo throwing 50mph at the Yankee hitters in the playoffs has me worried -

I mean for the season -
All Braves games will be available I believe via TBS
-
I luuuuuv eating crow
-
The man needs to hit one out soon
-
Livian H is not available....no way Omar Minaya is building for next year's move for the team. He needs to build this team for next year when they will actually have fan support and can count on adding to the core of the team Livian and their 2nd B (forget his name) are part of their core (not sure about Biddle )
-
The next two games (tonight and tomorrow) are on WGN And 2 Seattle games (Sat and Sun) are on Fox and ESPN respectively

LOL .... I am still hoping that Koch even gets back to his 95mph days....a good Koch would really help us beat the Spankees/Bo Sox/As/Angels in the playoffs
