Again, I have been reading the Trib and years, and I see not much bias in the Trib towards the Cubs vs the Sox I have seen the Sox as top headline way too many times to believe in this bias If anything, Moronotti and the Suntimes bash us much more than the Trib does Of course, Moronotti bashes JR just to help the fans

I love how we are playing this season. I love how we do not die once we go down (last year I remember the corpse ball once we were down after the 7th inning) But, the bottom line is We are 12-8 after 20.....the exact same record as last year. I remember how quickly everything fell apart last year before the AS break, and despite the late surge it was always going to be difficult I hope we do not get into such a plunge again

I agree Scho has pitched very well, far above my expectations. Hats off to Kenny for having faith in him. Colon, by the way, is now 3-1. I wish we had him, with Scho as our #5. That would put Danny in the pen, where he belongs, and we would have run away with the division. Darn, the Colon non-signing still freaking hurts. Especially given our shaky BP, something he would have helped keep fresh.

From today's Tri on the closer saga "I don't want to answer this question anymore," Guillen said. "Whoever throws the ball in the ninth, he will be the closer."

Scho has made a believer out of me I used to think we would be down 5 runs every game int he first 4 innings wiht this guy, after whjich we would have to go to the pen Clearly he has been very good, twice against the most expensive batting line up money can buy He can pitch. Now Danny is a different story

One should take into account that what happened in that first inning yesterday will probably not happen to us ever again this year (fingers and toes crossed) It was a rare occurrence - errors, people late to the plate to cover, people dropping balls etc Move on...it happens.

Nothing wrong with that, but you have to follow economics 101 Go look at how the ratio of attendance at Cubs vs Sox games and then look at the ratio of their salaries Same applies for attendance at Minny, KC and Detroit..... And do not give me this BS that as a seller, you should put the money first for the buyers to come and that if you had a restaurant that kept giving inferior food, and would not improve quality by increasing what you spend, no one will attend your restaurant and you will go out of business. This is not the restaurant business, this is professional MLB. There are no other options. In restaurants there are. The barrier to entry in the MLB industry is huge due to restrictions and policies. First Kruk killed him for defending the decision to bunt Alex Rod. Kruk said Giambi was 0.179 against lefties last year, so having Pay Rod bunt was a bad decision, and they were lucky to get an error from Crede to have a productive inning. Harold kept defending the decision, but Kruk killed him by giving egs of how a MVP does not bunt and how the guys nehind him suck against Buerhle etc etc Then, later on in the show when the Sox were getting back in the game, Kruk again said "let's hope they ask Maggs and CLee to bunt" taking a shot at Harold Next, Peter Gammons killed Harold when Harold said all of the AL Central teams should re-sign their studs (Beltran, Maggs etc) when they come up for FA, and Peter said Harold should contribute since all of those teams have limited payroll because they have limited revenue. Harold ketp arguing that the Royals, Minny, Sox etc should keep their superstars, even if it meant paying 15 mill to a Beltran or a Maggs, and Peter Gammons kept killing him by telling him he should contribute to these teams, and that no team with one player having >15% of team payroll has won a WS for the last 15 years It was pure comedy and Harold knew he was getting it from both Kruk and PG

If Willie and Uribe continue to give us >0.275 consistently throughout the season, and if Reed can successfully become the CF (or at leats replace Timo for the 4th outfielder spot who plays against right handed pitching), our needs at trade deadline will strictly be pitching - one starter and one stud reliever

I expected our bats to go dead any time soon....what was happening for the first 9 games was just not going to continue....we knew that Hopefully our pitching wins us some 2-1 games Not today but maybe tomorrow We can still win today but we need to get going soooon

It is too early to say anything yet.....but I am very happy with this season so far other than our BP of course Let's see how we do once our bats cool off....which will happen Let's see how we do when we get to the crunch games To me the biggest part of this season is if we are leading the division by 60 game mark, I BETTER SEE THE USCF FILLED OR NEAR FILLED FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR......if we do not support our team even now, we do not deserve any larger payroll I want to see us re-sign Maggs, and then get Nomah and one stud pitcher next year to make this a seriously lethal club for next year But for that to happen, fans have to come out

For a while I was worried that we may not have to do much to improve this team at trade deadline if Harris and Rowand played solid......now we know we HAVE to get BP help asap

I say re-sign Maggs and get Nomah here next year
