  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 01:14 PM)
    He has been well behaved all year this season. No way he goes NBA after 1 year. He needs to put on muscle for that and develop some sort of jump shot.

    He just got suspended for their sectional semifinal vs. Zion-Benton for getting two technicals and being ejected. The second T was a bad call after the ref thought he hung on the rim, although he didn't, so this isnt a case of him misbehaving at all. Sucks for the team though, cause they dont have much of a chance to beat Z-B without him. Richmond was also just named Sun-Times player of the year, which is impressive for a junior.

  2. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 7, 2009 -> 01:29 PM)
    I'm with you. I kind of dig it as well. Who would of thought Canada would have so many die hards for baseball.

    Are they actually die-hards for baseball or are they just cheering like crazy to beat the USA at their own game??

  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 02:13 PM)
    There are multiple types. But I have an airplane adapter for my laptop, its basically a cigarette lighter style thing, and it works on American and some others.

    Just bear in mind, few airlines have them on domestic flights, even fewer in coach, and even then only certain rows.

    So, I will give you the keys to one of the great tools for regular air travelers: www.seatguru.com. You can look at whatever plane on whatever airline you are flying, and it gives you all the info on each seat on the plane - which ones have power, which have more or less leg room, everything. Use it.

    Wow, that website is something else. Unfortunately, it shows that the Boeings Qantas flies from the US have ZERO power outlets in economy, so no luck for me. Its better to find out now though, then to be looking for a non-existent one on the plane. Thanks for that website, great stuff.

  4. I have seen on numerous airplanes that have signs stating DC power outlet under seat. I will be doing a lot of flying next month, and I was looking into purchasing an adapter/converter so I can plug in my DVD player/iPod so I can use them for flights across the ocean. Anybody have any recommendations on what kind of adapters may be good? It wont be for a laptop so it doesnt need to be too powerful. More importantly, where exactly are these outlets located on the seat? Is it under the seat or somewhere else? Thanks for the help.

  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 12:42 PM)
    I'm far from an Illinois fan, but as much prep ball as I have seen this year, Brandon Paul and Richmond are having GREAT years. Richmond could win Mr. Basketball as a junior, but they like to give it to a senior. I see them succeeding big time in Champaign.

    As long as Richmond keeps his head together, he is gonna be a hell of a player. The problem is, after one year in Champaign, I can see him bouncing to the pros. At least Weber wont pull a Wainwright and blame any losses on player deferrals to the NBA..

  6. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 6, 2009 -> 08:30 AM)
    I went to Australia for 2 weeks in October 2008 for my honeymoon, you're going to love it...and the favorable exchange rate you'll get -- its like 1$ American to 1.55AUS. Their plastic toylike money makes me laugh. :D The only thing you may not love is the flight, but it's not as bad as they say. If I could recommend anything to you, if you're flying Quantas, when you are getting your seats (if you aren't first class anyway), request the seats in the far back of the plane, as they are only in 2's rather than 3's/4's like the rest of the plane, that way you get to sit alone with your girl...otherwise you'll end up squished between wacky Aussies. :D

    As for the question asked in this thread -- go to Hawaii, stay FAR away from Mexico right now. Besides, Mexico is for spring breaker children who think they know how to party -- Hawaii is for Honeymoons.

    Good to hear, thanks for the advice. I have flown enough 8-9 hour flights to Europe, but 13 hrs is gonna be something else. We are flying Qantas, but they dont let you pick seats until you check-in, but I'll keep that in mind.

    All this funny money talk reminded of the Simpsons episode where they get kidnapped in Brazil, when the kidnappers get their ransom money.

    "Look at all that pink & purple!!"

    "Wow, our money sure is gay."

    :lolhitting

  7. I'm actually headed to Australia/New Zealand for my honeymoon next month, pretty pumped about that, although I have to miss the first 2-3 weeks of baseball season...

  8. QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 5, 2009 -> 02:15 AM)
    I just want to laugh at everyone who was so sure Missouri was overrated. That was the 2nd time OU has lost with Griffin this year. Shut up people, shut up.

    Also, go Northwestern. Big win at Purdue. Maybe they are back on the bubble.

    Add the fact that Kansas lost so Mizzou still has a 1% chance of splitting the Big 12 title and the Bulls won and this was a spectacular basketball night for me.

    If they dont horribly choke away home games to Purdue & Illinois, they might have lock status right now. Now they probably have to win @OSU this weekend, and then make it like the finals of the BTT, with at least one win over MSU, PUR or ILL along the way.

  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 12:38 PM)
    Yes because he is more well known than Michael Turner who I would rather take number 1.

    Will a team who has one of the top 5 picks in the NFL make the playoffs next season?

    Yeah, the Seahawks

    Will the Bulls make the playoffs?

  10. QUOTE (JoeBatterz @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 01:07 PM)
    The Best Free Agent Signings can the ones that you don't make.

    Exhibit A:

    Kosuke Fukudome, Cubs. Four years, $48MM ($12MM per year). Signed December of 2007. I can't lie - I liked this deal when it was signed. The Padres and White Sox offered similar amounts.

    From what I remember, we offered him a little more. But he wanted to play RF (Dye) and hoped to be the first Japanese guy for that franchise (Shingo & Iguchi) so we really, really lucked out.

    Yup. And no one else is particularly close

    http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.htm?fet...iewName=summary

    Looking at the league-wide faceoff % stats paints an even clearer picture of how much help the Hawks need..

    Out of 87 qualifiers, Toews is ranked #24, which is decent

    http://www.nhl.com/ice/app?service=page&am...inPctg&pg=1

    But the other 3 guys, Fraser, Sharp, & Bolland are all ranked betwwen #72 & 84, easily in the bottom 20%...not good

  12. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 07:31 PM)
    Lets hope Blago = Canseco and we get some Mitchell report type s*** going. I hope he fairly names those who are similarly guilty and they are forced to defend themselves for their part in the corruption that takes place here daily.

    I wonder what he will say about RJD.

    definitely, I think this book could be great, lots of names being dropped for all the political mis-dealings that go on in Chicago and everywhere else...

    and you know Blago is the type of guy to give up dirt on anyone, even if he may have been close with them and friends...

  13. i always that a sporting event would be a target for them, cause of the sheer amount of people there and comfort level people have there and with sports in general...

    didn't think attacking an actual sports team before a game would be a plan concocted...

  14. QUOTE (rangercal @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 08:35 AM)
    Both will. Contreras will win 15, Colon 10.

    Will Blake Griffin be the #1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft?

    Yes, as long as MJeff & The Bobcats dont get the first pick and screw it up...

    Will a "mid-major" make the Sweet 16?
