He's actually hitting .311 in his last 10 games so he's moving that average up. He's also 36/40 in SBs. This guy is a career .287 hitter, he hit .320 last year. And his .301 OBP is not too far from Thome's .351 OBP. In 234 ABs this year Thome struck out 73 times, according to my math he strikes out once every 3 ABs. Not good, he's clearly on the decline, I wish everyone would realize that instead of honoring him for being 'so nice and classy'.
Shouldn't we be counting how many times he strikes out per plate appearance if we want to accurately make a point?
