  1. QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Jun 30, 2008 -> 02:11 AM) Any chance we could trade Thome and maybe Fields for Chone. That would be the only way to make the team any better Who would you bench then?
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) Willy Taveras and his amazing .252 average and .301 OBP (and that's with him playing half of his games in Colorado!)...? I'll pass. I'll pass too considering how much would it take to get him, which I can only guess is far too much.
  3. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) He's actually hitting .311 in his last 10 games so he's moving that average up. He's also 36/40 in SBs. This guy is a career .287 hitter, he hit .320 last year. And his .301 OBP is not too far from Thome's .351 OBP. In 234 ABs this year Thome struck out 73 times, according to my math he strikes out once every 3 ABs. Not good, he's clearly on the decline, I wish everyone would realize that instead of honoring him for being 'so nice and classy'. Shouldn't we be counting how many times he strikes out per plate appearance if we want to accurately make a point?
  4. I'd say fans are even dumber here too.
  5. Holy s***, ESPN replays games. I'm looking forward to this.
  6. I'm surprised he said that. Guy is a huge bigot.
  7. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 29, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) I seem to remember a few posters saying we should enjoy that last Dodgers win, because it would be the last time we were in first. Is that right? I don't understand why that thread was closed. I didn't then, I don't now.
  8. Zero dollars exactly, minor screw up by kerry.
  9. For example its easy to say "We need a true lead off hitter" or "We need some speed." What position would that person play? Who would you bench on this team to do that while giving up minor league talent? Thome & Konerko seem to be the weakest. Would you actually try putting someone else in there? I wouldn't. Thome has already came around, over .300 in june, and konerko has high upside potential. It seems highly uneconomical in the classic sense to make a move. Prove me wrong please.
  10. I ask because I am very impressed with this team. I was looking at the white sox home page and agreeing with the article about williams not desiring a move. Its easy to say you could improve it but think about the cost please while doing so. Its hard to find upgrades at a cheap cost, so they better be very substantial. The bullpen & starting pitching seem solid to me. Even our outfield is crowded with talent. Who would you bench and give up to get a superior talent in place of?
  11. I think javy should have started this inning but now that the lead off guy is on, I'd yank him.
  12. QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 03:20 PM) We are still very much in this game. Lets get real people. right right right
  13. We are still very much in this game. Lets get real people.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 03:12 PM) In the past, this is where Javy would hang a pitch up in the count. Why even post that?
  15. Damn. Another SB for dye. Guy is hawter than a microwave oven.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 28, 2008 -> 02:54 PM) Hawk must have been controlling that camera to RF. lol, yeah. It didn't have a chance. I was just saying. It was towering.
  17. Or he might get them out in order for the next 4 innings. Who knows.
