QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) What's with the bunt hatred? Just because our team fails to execute too much? The majority of us see it as a waste of an out. An out that could be better served with instead a hit, walk, groundout, or a fly ball.

QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) Can we hire a coach to team this team how to bunt? Make a new position on the staff just for that.. since we can't do it and no one can seem to teach them how to. Can we hire someone to tell them the exact opposite? Is Earl Waver or Manny Acta available?

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:34 PM) Sailing along. This is our 4th starter come the 28th. He just might be the best fourth starter in baseball. If we can make the playoffs...look out! I still think you do Peavy, Buehrle, Floyd for (what should be) a 3 game series, but Danks is making it a nice question to debate.

Happy to see we didn't bunt on that one!

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:33 PM) Surprised that ball didn't die out in center. AJ hit the ball towards the end of the bat, Rios squared his up. AJ’s approach to the gaps is better for this stadium.

SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
Pretty swing by AJ.

Rios has been well positioned to catch the majority of the balls hit to center. Not a big thing, but pretty nice to see

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:25 PM) That's what, the 5th, 6th ball this series that he's killed to either the wall or the foul pole? It’s up there, yeah. He’s just the victim of this stadium, which is a noted pitchers park. Balls die to deep center here.

QUOTE (son of a rude @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:23 PM) we get it, you hate rios. He hates Nix like this too. I don’t see any motivation to it other than irrational dislike.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:22 PM) I love when you "hit it hard" way in the air and it doesnt make the track. Rios f***ing sucks. Great job Pods, Thome and Kotsay though! Are you serious? He killed that ball. That doesn’t make him a bad ballplayer.
-
SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
Rios keeps killing the ball. It just has no carry here. When he gets to The Cell, things will change.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:19 PM) LOL you guys see the A's catcher actually looking to pick Pods off at third? Seems like a logical thing to try. 2-0! YES!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:18 PM) Any team in MLB who isn't saying this? (KW impression) I didn't say the Gordon Beckham, i said like Gordon Beckham.
-
SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
We need more players like Beckham. I think we’re drafting them too. Beckham and now, Jared Mitchell are patience and drive approach hitters. I love that approach at the plate.

That was huge, Pods!

QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 05:13 PM) So since when is Kotsay our best hitter? Wait, did something happen to Beckham?
-
SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
Will take one of your groundouts here, Pods.
-
SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
Kotsay with two great offensive plays in a row. Went down to get that hit and then took a base on Cunningham.
-
SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
Nice pitching by Danks to get over Pods being Pods.
-
SOX @ Oakland, 3:05 PM...CSN/WSCR AM 670
Thome fills every uniform out well. He just looks good as an old-time baseball player.

QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) God, Gordon Beckham is one HELL of a player He’s magnificent. I missed Thomas’s debut, so this is pretty unprecedented for me to watch a White Sox rookie surge like this.

Stephen Strasburg
QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 04:20 PM) I don't get why Strasburg wouldn't sign. GREED.

I'm for cutting Contreras
QUOTE (scotty22hotty @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) yeah lets cut someone that was key to 05... especially when it looks to be his last year. You don't mess with the morale of the ballclub with 1.5 months left. That's just bad baseball. 2005, was what? 4 years ago? Count was pretty good too. Hell, let's bring everyone back. Anyone have Kelly Wunsh's number?

Huff strikes me as the type of broadcaster who thinks of one logical think to say, but nothing to follow up with it. He’ll say a comment, Hawk will respond, and then we’ll have dead air. He’s unsure of himself. It’s understandable, I had to do color for a couple college games, and it can be incredible difficult when you’re just getting started.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Aug 16, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) i think he did and hated it. i remember him complaining about it on air a few years ago. He clearly has no understanding of the core concepts involved.
