  1. I was curious if the reason the sox didn't trade AJ was because Kenny plans on offering him arbitration after the season. I feel like that is a very good scenario for the sox to be in. 1. As of now AJ is a type A free agent 2. Next years draft is supposed to be much better than this years 3. Flowers has shown signs of life lately so if AJ decides to decline we have the catcher for next year. 4. If AJ accepts arbitration he can't make much more money on a one year deal compared to this year. 5. I really feel we as sox fans over value AJ on the market because he has been so important to us for the title run and his successful time here. I feel with a top 15 pick or a sandwich pick we could get q more valuable prospect than any marginal AAA guy a team like texas would send us. Do you think this is what Kenny could have been thinking when he light AJ's 10 and 5 rights kick in? Sidenote: If we can't get a legitimate league average left handed bat because ozzie doesn't want to cut kotsay I would rather have a computer do the managing because ozzie's "baseball instincts" are idiotic.
  2. so quick question: why is juan pierre trying to steal down five with a pitcher struggling to throw strikes? I know our offense sucks but getting one run really doesn't do much for us there.
  3. Ok first time posting but anyways I think it would be very very bad for the sox to have to call up Beckham to play third base this season. There is now way The Cuban Pimp is ready for the big leagues and in my mind I don't think there is any doubt that Beckham could hold his own right now in the big leagues. That being said, the reason Beckham is so highly reguarded as a prospect is he is such a good hitter for a middle infielder. Now if he plays a good 3rd base and hits how people project him to hit he will be a nice player but by no means a superstar. Going along with this,if Josh loses the job to Beckham, Fields becomes virtually useless to us in trades in that his trade value really has never been as low as it is now. So best case scenario for me, Gordon continues to succeed in the minor leagues and Josh keeps hitting the ball like he has over these past few days. Next year we can hopefully trade Getz of Fields for a good major league ready pitcher or outfield and have Beckham step in and be the savior all of the southside expects him to be.
