I have to admit the thread last night between 5:30 till I went to bed was really quiet, I was hoping when I woke up this morning there’d be a signing

Damn I saw a couple new pages to this thread over the past hour I thought maybe there might be some news or movement.....ugh the wait continues

I’ve felt this way too, not much chatter or new info and a lot of repeated old reports, hopefully it picks up soon and is over by this weekend but I doubt it

I don’t really believe there any reason right now to be pessimistic unless you are worried about past free agency failure coming back to haunt the Whitesox. We’ve received positive news from multiple outlets that the Sox are really players in this today. I get being on edge and wanting him to be signed already but this is a waiting game we are playing right now and I have faith that RH can and will get the job done.

If you put your best offer on the table and know the Yankees won’t match a certain amount I’m not sure why you worry about manny taking it to them to match it, the whitesox offer should be far greater than what the Yankees are willing to pay imo

Everyone knows why Jon Jay was signed, him coming out and saying it doesn’t matter, it will look better saying the company line if Machado goes elsewhere because you are going to have the people with pitchforks coming out at that point regardless, no need to add even more to that mix

I’m gonna hold my pitch fork and be upset because he didn’t openly admit to trying to recruit manny like Alonso did ?. Maybe he is being honest and doesn’t have to recruit because manny is in the bag already ?‍♂️

This is true, how many signings/trades have we made this offseason where the Sox have legit been linked to outside of a hint about Alonso but even then the Whitesox weren’t directly linked to him. Jay came out of nowhere, no national reporter reporter had the Sox linked to Herrera ahead of time.

Playing Devils advocate here, but let’s say the whitesox do land manny. Does anyone know Harper and Machados relationship? Are they friends and could they coexist with mannys crew already going to be running the clubhouse it looks like.

Doubt it happens but if somehow we got him locked down around that price I hope they make a big offer to Harper to try and snag them both, but right now with philly still in play I believe he’s going to get much closer to the 300 million versus the 200 million being reported
