It is a medicare only thing.  You have to understand how medicare billing works versus how typically billing works.

I know about the medicare thing. I've argued with a lot of people about that. Medicare pays an extra 20% for covid patients because, surprisingly, it costs more to take care of them.

But the post specifically said "$25,000 per covid death" and ptatc didn't mention the hospital only testing dead people that had medicare. So I was curious if some new conspiracy theory was going around or if this is just an off-shoot of the original claiming that hospitals are upping the covid death counts on purpose to scare everyone or whatever.

It is happening everywhere. It is in the hospital I work at. At one point they were testing the decreased more than the living to attempt to make it a COVID death regardless of the cause of death.

That sounds incredibly fake. Where would the $25K even come from?

One of my best friends who I have been best friends with since we were  6 years old is now a Trumper. I cannot deal with him. He won't wear a mask. They election is stolen....He always was a republican who believed in smaller government, less taxes. But he was normal. Now he's nuts. I would love to hang out with him, but the craziness always comes up. i don't try anymore. i avoid him like the plaque. Hopefully in a year or so he will be de-programmed.

I've started to notice that Trumpers that I'm friends with on FB have now also shown themselves to be anti-vaxxers.  I don't know if they are anti-vaxxers in general or just anti covid vaccine for whatever reason but I'm starting to wonder even if we do get a vaccine here within the next month or so and it's generally available to everyone by summer, how much longer is this going to linger simply because people won't take the vaccine?

I really want to read this but have a personal policy to never pay any amount for subscription journalism.

Clear your cookies. They typically give a set number of free articles per week or per month or something like that. If you clear them, it resets the number.

I would love somebody to explain to me how traveling on a plane could possibly not be a superspreader.

It totally is and nobody has said it isn't.

Are you reading posts from your alternate universe that nobody else can see again?

You guys act like I make this stuff up. I watched a sheriff in Jersey and a sheriff in New York both easy google searches discuss NOT OBEYING the governor's orders to bust up parties of 10 or more. You guys act like I make this stuff up. yes the governors want these people prosecuted; no the sheriffs will not waste their time with this bleep. But it does exist.

So you agree with me that nobody is actually getting arrested for this and your statement was complete hyperbole? Good to see we are finally on the same page.

It's amazing it's easier to get arrested for holding a Thanksgiving party of 20 people than it is to bust windows in major stores and grab a few items for the TV room. Unfrickingbelievable.

Name one single person that has been arrested for throwing a party of 20 people or more. Just one.

Otherwise, please stop posting stupid hyperbole everywhere.

I know what I see. If it's lessened the past two weeks, then I'm very happy. I watched it nightly all summer into the fall into the winter. If it's now subsiding, good. But I will not back down on my summer/fall/early winter hobby of nightly watching the streamers in Portland. Just Saturday two guys were online harassing the Antifa in the street. I can send you the link. It was pretty funny. It was LAST WEEKEND. If you want the links I watch I'll PM them to you.

Why not just post them in this thread?

Also 2 guys harassing some other guys in the street =/= rioting. :jpshakehead:

Ditto in Oregon. How dare the government officials order people to skip Thanksgiving and have all these regulations when they are STILL rioting in Portland and busting windows and looting. ...

You must live in a different timeline/reality than the rest of us.

I googled Portland riots and all literally every single news story is from 2 or 3 weeks ago.

That illustrates why it would be important to treat internet access like a utility, because when it isn't treated that way, people get left behind.

They were/are apparently perfectly happy without it. The only reason my in-laws have it is because my brother-in-law still lives with them and pays for it.

Also, you can't function in the modern world without internet access, so I think that should be included in your utilities. Everyone should have access. Same with cell phones, they can be attached to your internet access.

I have at least half a dozen co-workers that prove this is false.

When work from home started in back in March/April we had to issue them cell phones so they could use them as hot spots because they didn't have internet at home.

First of all, trust me, Biden will have majorities in the Senate AND House to work with following the Georgia runoffs. I've never been more sure of anything, just as I was positive Joe had the election in the bag. This is a done deal; Senate is going Democrat majority (Kamala has the deciding vote if tied).

Be that as it may, Joe actually still has a chance to get a few things done if somehow the Senate and House were split. That's ONLY IF he is the regular, upstanding, grandfatherly, nice guy, good politician Joe that he's been for 50 years. If he is just Kamala's puppet and AOC's puppet and comes in blazing about radical issues like defund the police, adding 2 new states, 480,000 bucks reparations for every Black family, incredible tax hikes on the little guy, taking away guns, letting everyone out of prison via Kaepernick's demand, refusing to tell the FBI to look harder into Antifa, agreeing with weak mayors and governors who won't prosecute rioters   ... forget it. It'll be WAR just as it's been with Trump.

Regular Joe ... he might be one of the great presidents ever.

Following the radicals Joe ... ugh, he will be in so many fights with the Jim Jordans, etc., it'll make our heads spin.

If it makes America feel better to blast the Covid-deniers fine I guess. But I'm more worried about what's going on and about to happen. ie. doctors and nurses running low in numbers and hospitals full.

Badger I really didn;'t want to link to five stories but I found three in about 20 seconds if you want me to. It's a simple google to find the stories.

You probably should have read the story you linked. Nobody is actually doing this because according to the article in your link:

But because the January runoffs are a continuation of an ongoing election, experts suggest it would be voter fraud, and a felony, to move to Georgia with the intention of staying only to vote in the runoff elections.

At my wife's school an elective teacher tested positive. Because the teacher floated they stopped all face to face instruction and moved to 100% virtual. They had a good ten weeks.

In our school district the HS just went to full remote learning through Nov 30th because they simply don't have enough staff for all the classes.

I'm not sure why they didn't just make it through the end of the year. Seems kinda dumb to go back to F2F learning for 3 weeks in December then have everyone off for 2 weeks for Christmas break.

You know what, I take exception to your line about how he should be acting as a patriot. Yes, some of us are VERY skeptical of both sides of the government. Yes some of us think it certainly could be fraudulent and yes some of us are worried about the Senate races in Georgia and how "fair" they will be. What I'm saying (and even though you may want me silenced or banned or whatever) a lot of US citizens do agree with me. Would I love to be wrong?? Of course. I am a proud American ready to honor my relatives and others on Veterans Day. But do I welcome an inspection of the voting in a close election? Yes I do. Sorry but that's how I feel. Am I skeptical? Yes. Does that make me a lousy American not just congratulating Joe? I don't think so but I suspect many of you do.

My take is: if it's frivilous lawsuits wasting time, then definitely SLAP Rudy's wrists and give Trump everything he deserves, maybe even jail time if he's purposely wasting the court's time. BUT ... if there's fraud and it can be proven, prove it and rectify a possible wrong.

If the attorneys on this site say this is frivilous, which they are doing, then I probably need to change my opinion as I do respect their honor.

Actual judges have determined that his lawsuits have no merit.  He's 0 for 10 so far...
