Hey! My prediction came true!
Who knew?

I think Savanna IL lost 75 straight football games.
74. Their streak went from 1996 to 2003.
The record before that was 47 which my HS school tied in 1994.
This is the article when Savanna tied it originally in 2001.

Personally i feel like this team is going to ruin it with a win… like they can’t even suck in a notable way.
My HS football team did that. We had a losing streak that lasted like 6 years. When they finally won a single game during my senior year (literally the only game they won all year) they had TIED for the longest losing streak.
It's since been broken though...

When you do not accomplish the goal at hand, and you’ve been given the opportunities we’ve been fortunate to be given to try to rebuild this thing, to tear it down and rebuild it
I guess "fortunate" is one way to describe it.
Literally no professional GM/president in the history of ever have been given as many chances and failed attempts as Rick and Kenny have.

Well they are currently 20th in the league with 4.17 runs/game.
https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/runs-per-game
Somehow Cleveland, KC and Detroit are all worse.
They are also 29th in runs given up per game with 5.65

Nothing wrong with this team that a better offense, defense and pitching couldn't fix.

I agree. My original response was to highlight the anomaly of the Rays having a small payroll.
That's true. They are kind of the exception to the rule.
Although the Twins and Royals seem to get by with smaller payrolls more often than not as well.

Sucks most of the money is going to a guy fighting cancer and not playing.
I mean obviously nobody could've for-seen that. But should the closer really have the 3rd highest AAV on the team?
Just saying they spent a lot of money doesn't mean they've spent it wisely.

Damnit JR for spending too much money. How many time have we complained about his over spending?
Don't tell me what you spent, tell me how you spent it.
Like having the most expensive bullpen in MLB that also has the highest ERA. This is from a week ago but I imagine not much has changed since then.

On the south side, at any rate, it appears that there will be years of bad baseball ahead ..
So basically, the same thing as the last 100 years or so? Give or take a year or two here and there.

I get that he was made at the pitcher, but if the ump would have granted the time-out none of this would have happened. I'm not so sure that many pitchers in baseball would have stepped off and not thrown the pitch.
Regardless of what TA was mad at, the point of my comment you seemed to have missed, was TA is extremely sensitive lately and all I was doing was just agreeing with the poster.
No, you are right. I saw the interview with Garfien too. He definitely seems a little more salty this year.

He really has become way too ultra sensitive lately. Besides this episode, TA totally over reacted to the ump not granting him a time-out a few games ago.
It wasn't the umpire granting him time that he was upset about.

Been watching the show The Ark the past month or so. It's basically the plot of the movie Passengers except it's like 100 people instead of just 2.
It's set in some sort of apocalyptical future where the earth became uninhabitable and they had to build a bunch of spaceships to send humans to some distant planet.
They were supposed to remain in cryogenic sleep but something hit the ship, damaged a large portion of it and woke everyone up prematurely. Also it killed like half the people on board including most of the higher ranking people who actually knew how to run the ship.
So far the special effects haven't been too bad. At least for a TV show. They don't really have any "futuristic" technology except for the ship itself which can apparently travel at near light speed.
I was worried that it would be a bit Star Trek-ish but it's really not.

They are already changing the rules around the pitch clock.

Davis Martin looks to be the 5th starter right now to open the year. There were plenty of options available to sure up that spot, but why do it? Why spend another 10-15 million when Davis Martin will be "semi-ok?"
I've legit never heard of this dude until just now.
I guess that just shows how little I paid attention to this team last year.

I've spoken to a number of people over the years who know JR and the one constant I get is that he wants to win.
But...
He wants to win HIS WAY...under his rules, his restrictions financially, and putting loyalty above all else.
Like many in the organization he feels he is smarter than everyone else...history shows that is not the case.
I used to have a t-shirt that said "He who dies with the most toys wins."
I think that's the type of winning JR wants to do. Maybe replace 'toys' with 'money'. Surely he can't be talking about wanting to win championships...
-
If he cared about winning we would've had a different GM years ago.

I can honestly say I wasn't sure about the actress playing Eliie but she's really grown on me after watching the first four episodes. The part about her not getting a gun and just throwing her sandwich at them cracked me up.
I think that may be a line from the game as well but it's been so long since I played it I've forgotten most of it.

Anyone else watch That 90's Show?
I enjoyed it for the most part but it still wasn't quite as good as the original. You can tell they are doing the same basic characters over again even though 3 of them were gender-swapped.
There are a ton of homages and call-backs to the original show and the set looks basically the exact same. It reminds me a lot of what they did with Fuller House.
Most of the original main cast have at least one cameo appearance minus Danny Masterton for obvious reasons. They even make mention of Laurie but not by name.
Should be interesting to see if the come back with a season 2 or not since they left the ending open for one.
