  1. That really wasn't reed's fault. BS hit by doumit and then the ump turns out to be from Minnesota
  2. Been using that change a lot tonight, and it's working.
  3. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 12:40 PM) How about the Sox score 3 more runs and then Myers can pitch the 9th? Meyers isn't allowed to pitch the 9th unless Addy absolutely can't go. Don't want to pay that guy 10 million next year
  4. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 12:08 PM) 100 pitches for peavy 3 more innings then
  5. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) Tanks going yard right here. I agree with this
  6. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:53 AM) That is exactly why. Plus I think Paulie & AJ are just better hitters than Rios. The guy is having a great season, but so are Paulie & AJ. As for the Counsell or Mauer question I really see no point in answering that. I dunno, Rios was great in Toronto and now that he isn't standing like a retard up there he is batting great here too. Konerko is the better hitter out of the two I think, but I'd give Rios the edge over A.J.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) I know one thing, if Gordon Beckham was hitting second and struck out after a lead off double, he would have been skewered on this board. Youkilis does it, and not a peep. 5 out his last 40. 5 for 40 is about 5 hits more than Hudson was giving us in those 40 AB's, so he is excused.
  8. QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:48 AM) Not that much higher. Who hits better with RISP? I think Alexei is actually our best RISP hitter
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:43 AM) If the Sox ever really needed a hit, Paulie is the guy I'd want up there. WS Grand Slams and all that
  10. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) Is there a catcher who visits the mound more than Mauer? Christ The guy in KC
  11. If he gets span he should just hit Revere
  12. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:24 AM) lemme rephrase - what were the circumstances of the out? Some said it should've been a DP? Bad call? SS was shaded to 3B and it was hit up the middle, knocked it down right next to 2B but it fell behind his ass and he had to hand it to the second baseman who just missed nailing flowers.
  13. That was probably the best case scenario outside of a sac
  14. Flowers must hate coming up in this situation
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:12 AM) Yes, and you still want Rios batting after Dunn with Dunn walking so much. You could argue swapping Rios and Konerko, but moving Dunn from #3 makes no sense. If you move Dunn behind Rios and Konerko, you might as well tell him to swing at everything because his walks are going to be worth much less. I don't think so at all. I think you want Rios and Konerko in front of Dunn because like 30% of the guy's hits leave the ballpark. Put the speed guys in front of the guys who hit doubles and then let Dunn clear the plodders. If he walks it's not like Alexei isn't batting .500 since may with RISP and A.J. is doing well too. We have a dangerous line-up 1-8 and putting Rios in the 3rd spot would make it a lot smoother, I believe.
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:09 AM) Mike Fontenot was designated for assignment plz to get
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 1, 2012 -> 11:08 AM) As frustrating as Dunn can be, he walks a ton, and you waste a lot of his walks if you don't have your two bets hitters batting AFTER him. Also don't want Dunn and AJ hitting back-to-back. AJ sees less LOOGYs in the late innings because they won't stay in to face Konerko-Rios after Dunn. Rios-Dunn-Konerko then. Rios is the best bat on this club right now.
