QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Dec 28, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) agreed, much more likely that they lose a year rather than the dollars. I think the dollars are pretty much agreed upon/ballpark, it's the add-on clauses for opt-outs and no-trades that are dragging the process out for any of the big 3 outfielders. Why would gordon want them clauses
-
Ya idk bucket or rabbit im starting doubt there connections with the white sox.
-
Did the White Sox back out on Alex gordon offer today.
-
White sox Have no interest in YC
-
Monday needs to get here.
-
I hope the White Sox make good enough offer for alex gordon sign by monday or shortly after it.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) Not to mention Jay Bruce, Brett Gardner, Carl Crawford/Van Slyke/Thompson, Desmond Jennings, Avi, haha. Then Fowler, Span, Austin Jackson and Parra as well. Don't want fowler or jay bruce.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) Well, there's Upton, Cespedes, CarGo, Ethier, Blackmon, Dickerson, Kemp and Ozuna. Then there's Houston who is rumored to be looking at moving an outfielder due to their gluttony of them so its possible Gomez and Tucker are available and a less impact bat in Marisnkck who plays eleite defense with base stealing speed. Also rumored is Atlanta is willing to listen to offers on Inciarte who also brings elite defense with base stealing speed and five years of control at a cheap price. Many many options available to teams in search of outfield bats and IMHO, that why the market is taking so long to develop. Teams are likely talking to agents about their players contract demands as well as calls to GM's about asking prices in trades. With so many options, its easy to see why the market is taking so long. Fans just need to relax and have some patience since there's no hurry. Trade more prospects idk about that.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 02:49 PM) i am just a fan with a little tipsy with holiday cheer. but the whole fa signing and the value has thrown me all out of wack here. what is a "too much" offer, i do not know. I think Gordon get16-18 million per year.
-
If gordon getting 24 then Cespedes getting 28 million per year.

QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 02:35 PM) i too can live with gordon if i have too. i have the feeling of a minn of 2 or 3 yr b/c i think he wants a 1 yr or 6 yr. 1 yr and loose a draft pick, too expensive. however i am soooo excited at the sox spending money and positioning themselves to what may or may not come.... but they are trying and going for the gusto ..... to make a game of it for themselves and the fans. i just hope the fans will appreciate this and get game tickets. but this is my complete thought process and wish. sign cespedes for leftfield sign span for rf/cf for a 1 yr to rebuild his value. or the next best option, that the FO feels that can help. eaton in rf. really need another sp ..... i do not trust the danks / ej slot for the whole season. esp when there is no viable backup sp. kemp for dh in a trade for salary dump. melky.... trade if able or not, do not do the kemp move. get alexei for ss, get the cuban fans esp with cuba opening up, and make a bid for the young 16 cuban phenom and have alexei, jose a and cesp to go for the showcase and do a pr move for him and any other youngster in the off season. I doubt gordon gets 6 yr deal maybe 4-5.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 02:17 PM) Could not agree more Lillian. Let em. There's plenty of available outfielders to go around. What Outfielders that make a impact.
-
QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 02:09 PM) If Gordon wants $100 million on a 5 year contract, I hope that the Sox are able to nudge KC to spend enough to get him to stay there, and Hahn moves on to someone else. We have all acknowledged that KC is going to be in a financial bind, with so many of their core players entering free agency. The Sox window appears to be 2 years. Obligating themselves to a 5 year deal at that kind of money, for a guy his age, doesn't seem consistent with the rest of their moves. Would u spend 125 milion on Cespedes.

QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 02:05 PM) Waiting time is about over for these guys. I'm sure he's been holding out for a 5th year but everything I can tell, says that he has a limited market. We've got basically 7-8 weeks until ST starts, these guys need to sign soon & teams know that. The longer these guys wait, the lower their price goes but in turn, the more suitors they'll have with a cheaper price. If prices are lower then alot more teams jump in like cards angels orioles.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 01:44 PM) Well were making him a offer on Monday per bucket, so we'll see. Also I feel like bucket hinted he's rabbits source. But could have been me reading too far into things. I have a feeling gordon going to wait for 5 years and most money.
-
Rabbit already said Gordon signing will drag into January.
-
QUOTE (ron883 @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 01:01 PM) Hahn needs to send a message to sox fans. He needs to show his dedication to the job by making a Christmas Day trade. He needs to show he has stones to make a move like that. Sign Upton or Gordon today, you win my respect. A Christmas signing is cold blooded. Rick Hahn not going do this on Christmas.

QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 01:57 AM) Ditto man. Bucket your the man. I Just got off work and was catching up, not only are your responses worded well (almost like you're a direct source in the FO, leaking info to us) but it is just enough to get us all excited and believe we have a great chance of getting one of the three. Should be an interesting start to the week.... One thing that worries me about the Gordon thing is. If KC has indeed been told they are out and the Sox were thought as one of the finalists (and Really that's been heavily reported). What's taking so long? If it's money or opt out clauses or contract incentives I get it. Especially if talks recently just got serious after the KC negotiations "fell apart" after they low balled their homegrown guy. But if this guy is holding out because he's not sure he wants to play for us and is looking for a couple million more from KC than Eff' him. I understand wanting to play for your hometown and cashing in but sometimes you gotta pick. Looks like this is one of the times.. I would love Gordon on this team he adds a lot of the assets this team still lacks after reworking the IF, but I would also take Cespy or J Up. All three players offer different things we need. I really am looking forward to a positive conclusion next week on one of the big three fronts. Because in reality any one of these three makes us instantly a better team and contenders for the AL Central crown next season. Why would Gordon get opt out clause?
-
I hope this don't drag out too long into Jan.
-
QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 12:53 AM) Guaranteed to happen. Joel Sherman touched on that yesterday. If prices drop, teams that were "done", might jump back in. thats not good for white sox they need act fast then.
-
I wonder if more teams jump in on the big 3 if there prices drop.
-
So we can expect all 3 these guys to be cheaper like Gordon 4-5 years 75-80 million instead of 100 million.
-
QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 25, 2015 -> 12:44 AM) Let 'em. When was the last time Hayes or any of those guys were right? they wasn't right this year they said no on lawrie no on frazier.
-
All the sox beat reporters saying we not getting a big bat.
