QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) why do I have the feeling if he had left Crain in and Betemit singled, you would have been complaining that he didn't bring in Thornton? I don't know why you make that assumption. Do I know you?
-
I hope Ozzie leaves.
-
More crappy managing by Ozzie. Had to go by the book, even though Crain was doing fine. Just brilliant.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) Does Beckham have any hits after the 6th inning this season? 20-96 with 1 HR and 9 RBIs in the 7th-9th.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) How many runs would we knock off if the manager could see what 7 year olds watching the game can see? I obviously think Ozzie sucks as much as anyone. But that doesn't excuse Peavy being an uber expensive five inning pitcher.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) He's actually doing pretty damn well if you consider where he was a year ago. A 5.26 ERA qualifies as "pretty damn well"?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) This is just being silly. It was tongue in cheek. Regardless, he's receiving millions of dollars from us every year, yet in two years with us he's gone 14-10 with a 4.46 ERA. I don't care what his excuse is and I don't care if he's injured: that is abject failure.
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:13 PM) You hold Peavy to a higher standard despite the fact his shoulder literally fell apart? Your shoulder better not fall apart if you're making $16,000,000 a year.
-
QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:08 PM) But at this point he is a 5th starter. Just the highest paid 5th starter in baseball, or well 2nd, forgot about Zito. He doesn't get that excuse if he's making $16,000,000 a year. And SoxBadger, in regards to our ridiculous standards, see the above figure. I expect greatness out of him because he gets paid a s***load. In these last two starts where Humber started to wear down, I didn't freak out. Because nothing was expected of him to begin this season. Peavy, I hold to a higher standard.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) Yes, because nothing says "suck" like 1 ER through 5IP in, what could be, the biggest game of the season for this team. I'm frustrated by Jake too but he's a competitor...it's up to his manager to reel him in and pull him out of the muck when he's reached his limit. He didn't do 1 ER through 5 IP. He did 4 ER through 6 IP.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) It absolutely kills me to read so many negative comments about Peavy. The dude has busted his ass to come back this year, is typically good for several innings before tiring. Blame the f***ing manager, not the pitcher. Is he supposed to pull himself? I'm not giving an MLB pitcher who's getting paid as well as Peavy is any credit for being a five inning starter. I'll accept that from a 22 year old rookie, or fifth starter. I will not accept it from Peavy. If this is all he's good for, he should have stayed in the minors or accepted a demotion to the pen.
-
Ozzie sucks so much. I will wholeheartedly root for this team to lose every game for the rest of this season if it means Ozzie gets fired. I'm especially tired of his common retort to critics that he's managing a major league baseball team and they're not, so he must be right. Let him run his mouth like that when he's unemployed.
-
Why is Peavy still in? Oh, that's right...because our manager is an IDIOT.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Paulie was not the ws MVP. I can't believe I miffed that one. That's embarassing.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 03:39 PM) wake me when they honor the World Series MVP Really, guy? I love Paulie, but he's not even close to Frank Thomas, World Series MVP or not. 1. Paulie has only ever led the American League in one thing, and that was GIDPs in 2003. Frank led it in runs once, doubles once, walks four times, batting average once, OBP four times, SLG once, OPS three times, sac flies once and IBBs twice. 2. Frank scored 100 runs nine times and drove in that many eleven times. Paulie's never done the first thing, and the second, he's only done that five times. He's never driven in 120 runs, which Frank did four times. 3. Paulie one time reached fifth place in MVP voting. He reached sixth another year, and then he reached 16th and 22nd in his only other vote-receiving years. Frank won it twice and finished in the top eight a total of nine times. Frank won four Silver Sluggers, how many does Paulie have? 4. Frankly, until Paulie's career revival of the last two years, I've always thought that some of his best years (2004 & 2005) looked a lot like Frank Thomas' so called bad ones (1998, 2002, 2007). And even the stats from PK's "revival years" are subpar when considering Frank's good years, which were the bulk of his career. Maybe you were joking. Maybe you weren't. But regardless, I don't care if Paulie helped us win a World Series. His career doesn't even begin to compare to the Big Hurt's.

You libs will hate this, but I really don't care. If Norman Leboon saying crazy things about Cantor is terrorism, then all of these acts certainly count. Enjoy.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) I think it's time to ask the annual question are you in or out? f*** it, I'm in. f*** Detroit, f*** Cleveland, f*** Minnesota, Go you White Sox! I'm in. I'm always in. I'd be in if we lost 120 games. I'm definitely in if we're 3.5 games out and one game under. GO SOX!

Walking Rios to get to AJ? Umm...I'm lost.
-
Not much of a debut for Ruffin. And I couldn't have enjoyed it more.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 08:27 PM) Wait, what the f*** just happened? LOL. I looked down for a second, look up when I hear Hawk yell, and we get an out. Haha. Same thing happened to me, man. WTF happened? Did the pitcher throw someone out after a wild pitch?

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) I believe they're the last time to do it back in '07. Sad to know that it's taken the Rangers only 5 innings to score that against the Twins where as we only have 18 against them in 8 games. Correct. Only team to score 30 in modernity, IIRC.
-
QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) I'm having a blast watching the Rangers/Twins game. Ranges up 18-1 after 5. This is awesome. I hope the Rangers score 30.

WELCOME TO THE f***ING BIG LEAGUES, KID!!!!! :headbang :headbang

Welcome to the big leagues, kid.

Well, our two best hitters are irrelevant since one is backed by Dunn and the other by Rios. Why can't we do a Konerko-Quentin-Pierzynski-Dunn-Beckham-Rios kind of thing...
