Amateur MLB Umps even though ACTUAL MLB Umps need to be replaced by TECHNOLOGY have the final say in ANYTHING regarding Umps because they know the supposed "RULES" even in a judgement call situation. I raise my white flag. You win. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:19 PM) You're like Hawk - purposely trying to remain ignorant on things you don't understand. It's great. Umpire moving towards play, if Tank throws arms up and walks away (which he did not), umpire comes all the way out to inspect and make a ruling. Instead, Tank goes for ball, picks it up and throws it. No error was made on the umpire's part, but please, continue. How can you not comprehend that the Ump was not making an effort to come out? As soon as that ball got lodged under the padding he should have been making an effort to come out. Rules....Really? From a guy who has watched just about as much baseball as you can this season with the ticket rules mean nothing to me with the way umpiring has been this season. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 11:08 PM) Apparently you can't read. Oh well, I tried. KILL THE UMPS. LMAO Are you getting mad over this?.....Because I don't agree with your "Umpire Knowledge"? Wow.... Guy says Tank is supposed to wait for the Ump to come out & "inspect" the ball, but the Ump was making no inkling of coming out to "inspect" the ball. KILL THE UMPS. -

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:58 PM) They are in first place and completely boatracing the Sox. Sox have been botching plays as usual, making baserunning mistakes as usual. What did I say was so wrong. Texas is so much better than the White Sox talent wise it is ridiculous. ITS 1 FREAKING GAME IN A SERIES!!!!!! Lmao relax. We all know the Sox are not very good this season & Texas is.....What's new? To say the Sox are far from competing is completely assanine. You know what the Sox will do in the offseason? With our rotations potential we could be competing next season, but why expect a guy who ONLY comes on here to bash his "Favorite" team to understand that? -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:57 PM) I agree that I think Trout is far and away the best of that group, and the best player in baseball. And I also would put Machado ahead of Harper because I love Machado's work at 3B, in addition to his bat. He seems more well rounded than Harper, but all 3 are just flat out studs. Yup no question I would not be mad at all with ANY of those guys. So much young talent in baseball. Atta boy JORDAN!!!.....Still hitting the ball hard. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) You're such a joke, it's unreal. I'm convinced you're just an 05 bandwagon jumper who knows nothing about baseball. SHHHHHH don't inform Greg on just how GOOD our rotation can be. He sees Sale get lit up & has to jump at the opportunity because it's rare. Everybody knows we won't be contending for at least 10 seasons..... -

OT - but just hearing that Trout is TOP 10 in 19!!! Offensive Categories is absolutely amazing. This guy has a chance to do so many special things in his career. Whenever I hear the Harper, Machado, or Trout debate I just kind of laugh. Trout IMO has so much more potential. Trout Machado Harper Is how I would rank them. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:47 PM) Far be it from me to question a licensed high school and college umpire, but the Rangers announced said a few times that the umpire should have called it immediately, and if it's not in "the stadium's rulebook" or what is considered out of play, then they need to amend the stadium rules because they said as soon as Viciedo put his arms up it should have been called dead. They are just announcers, not a licensed high school and college umpires, so take it for what it's worth. Didn't get to hear their point of view but when Stone Pony agrees with Hawk the way he did, I'm pretty sure it was a terrible call. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:35 PM) Try to learn something here, instead of playing a game of "kill the ump" when you don't know the rules. The umpire doesn't make a ruling or kill the play until he gets right up to the ball and makes a call if it's playable/lodged or not. Umpires do not react at the time the player throws up his arms. If this was at the outfield fence, the ball is still live, umpire runs all the way out. Baserunners can keep moving, and then be put back if it was considered dead. Tank's course of action, if he thought it was lodged, would be to throw hands up, walk away, let umpire come out and make the call. You can throw your arms up all you want - if you go digging in there after that, it remains a live ball and will never be ruled dead, even if it's completely stuck and you can't retrieve it. He panicked because there wasn't a call, saw the baserunner moving, so went down and tried to get it. He didn't know the rule. You don't pin that on the umpire. Of course he panicked. You said he should let the umpire come out? Did you see the replay? The Ump WAS NOT MOVING....In perfect position but just staring at Tank....Kinsler is on the move not stopping so of course Tank is gonna go after the ball again. JUDGEMENT CALL LIKE HAWK SAID.... & a TERRIBLE one. The baseball rulebook means NOTHING to me with all the mistakes I see over the course of a season. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:33 PM) I'm not worried one iota. That had to have been the sharpest looking 8 ER allowed performance I have ever seen. Softest 8 ER allowed ever. Yup I def agree. Texas is just on an absolute roll & the couple mistakes Sale made got deposited into the seats.....& under the padding. It happens & ya move on. I guarantee if you ask Sale how he felt he would say he wants the ball tomorrow. Just the kind of competitor he is & we are in good shape with him as our Ace going forward. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:29 PM) 1 Chris Sale mittslam per every baserunner allowed. They have now paid for their sins. He knows he didn't have his best stuff. I like the emotion & expect him to def bounce back in his next start. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:24 PM) Except he didn't do the right thing. No, it's really not. I'm a licensed high school and college umpire, and that's the rule. Period. If the ball gets stuck under the wall & I look right at the ump & put my arms up & the ump is staring RIGHT AT ME & has ZERO reaction of course I'm gonna start to look for the ball more frantically. The ump could see perfectly that Tank had no idea where the ball was. Rules or not, its a judgment call & he made a terrible one. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:10 PM) Hawk really hates De Aza. The Sox should definitely skip a start or two of Sale's down the stretch Come September there is no doubt in my mind I think they do. Erik Johnson will be up here taking some starts & with the way Rienzo has been pitching he is going no where. We all know Sale is the Ace. Let's see Danks continue to round himself back into old shape & see Hector, Jose, Andre, & Erik make a lot of the starts down the stretch battling it out for next season. -

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:07 PM) Phil Rogers @ChiTribRogers 15m U.S. Cellular is fun place to be tonight. The crowd of 31,891 is the biggest since Opening Day, when Chris Sale beat James Shields 1-0. Such a great day that was. Then right off the cliff.... -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:01 PM) Did Hawk really just say Crede was on his way to becoming one of the best 3B in MLB history? If he stayed completely healthy he would have certainly been one of the most BELOVED Sox players of all time. That guy was one of the BIGGEST FAN FAVS I have ever seen. Man I miss that guy. Just provided so many memories I will never forget, from his defense to his major clutch hitting. Crede & Dye were def 2 of my favs. -
