  1. You're cracking me up dude. But, if you're under 12 years old I seriously apologize. In your baseball world wins don't matter. It was about run differential. Now, it's all about defense. But, you don't want to address the fact that the already far superior World Series appearing Detroit Tigers were better than the Sox prior to adding Torii Hunter, Victor Martinez and a full year of Anibal Sanchez? That somehow improves the Sox chances? Are you feeling alright? And, for your information, I never stated that Detroit's defense was better than the Sox. Please try to repsond to actual comments.
  2. What a lame response. Where's your run differential trophy? And, if you are going to respond to my comments please learn how to respond to the comments that I've actually made instead of fabricating them in your head.
  3. Talk about an irrational response....In waht presure packed playoff games did Detroit's "horrendous" defense destroy them? Answer: none. Secondly, it's quite obvious that Detroit has both a better pitching staff and better offense. The team had a horrible start and took time to jell and then easily blew past the overacheviving White Sox. And, they actually won playoff games beating the Yankees for the second year in a row. So, yeah they are a lot better than the Sox after adding Hunter, getting Martinez back and having Sanchez for a year The Sox rotation is FAR from solid. Peavy, Sale, Floyd (the guy Sox fans have been bashing for years), Quintana?, Santiago/Danks? C'mon. the only two guys there that Detroit would even be interested in would be Sale and Peavy. Only a cool aid drinker would even compare these two rotations.
  4. I don't know how people can criticize Peavy's season. The guy was excellent. Any better and he would have been a Cy Young Candidate. That's a lofty expectation. After what he has been through he really surprised me. I must admit that he exceeded my expectations. I hope he is that good this year.
  5. No way. His skills have been seriously deteriorating for several years. Even Keppinger is better at this point. And, as many have pointed out he would be a major unwanted distraction.
  6. Yep. It killed Detroit so much last year they ended up having to play all those World Series games.
  7. What are you talking about ? The Sox barely have three decent staring OFers. After that they absolutely nothing. If they traded one who would become the bew starter? Wise? He's been DFA'd by half the teams in baseball. In what world would Jordan Danks be a starting OFer? He could make very few, if any, other ML rosters. There is no minor league OFer ready to step in. The best OF prospect is at least a couple of years away. The Sox have no outfield depth to trade or even in case of injury.
  8. Yeah, sure. The Sox starting pitching is better than Detroit's? And, by a lot? Thanks for playing.
  9. Although I think the Sox will be a decent team and fun to watch this year I don't see but a sliver of a chance to catch Detroit. There are two reasons. First, the obvious is that they have a better more talented roster. Beyond that, their ownership is committed to spending the money to win. They have shown that if the Tigers have injuries or underperform they will spend money to overcome that. The Sox are in an unfortunate position right now where they really have no depth anywhere on the ML roster to trade from, a near barren farm system with few prospect they can afford to trade and are up close to their payroll limit already. That's why it's been an uneventful winter as far as transactions. They really need to wait it out two more years for the Dunn, Rios, Konerko and Peavy contracts to be gone. That's $ 60 mil. per year for those four. Hopefully, they have a good solid young core by then to add some veterans to.
  10. Honestly, I think the Sox pitching is good enough to ensure that they finish ahead of Minnesota and Cleveland. Barring substantial injuries, ofcourse. I really am looking forward to the battle with K.C. It looks like they will be a very interesting team to watch at the least. I am just curious. Does anyone have any idea of when a team last had a .200 hitter batting third all season? Has it ever happened?

  12. Is it really brain surgery? De Aza Keppinger Rios Konerko Dunn Viciedo Ramirez Beckham Flowers
  13. A discussion about what a pathetic baseball player Adam Dunn is can only begin with watching him fail in in so many game situations that only require a player to make contact to benefit the team. That's why batting him third really hurt the Sox last year. He came up in so many crucial situations and failed far more often than Rios would have. In addition to that, have you looked at K.C.'s roster? Better talent. Fewer holes.
  14. I completely disagree. Any player that strikes out 222 times and bats .204 is a poor hitter in any spot in the order. Only two more long years till that bum is gone. The Sox would be better off batting Keppinger third.
  15. Yeah, really. Adam Dunn is nothing more than a platoon DH and not a good one at that. Jeff Keppinger wouldn't start at third base for any other team. I'm not sure there is another team in baseball with worse back up outfielders than Jordan Danks and Dewayne Wise with no one in the minors close to ready for 2013. The backup catcher and infielder are no better. I've never seen a team with less depth. With a few injuries they could be a disaster. There are 3 starting pitchers to count on then question marks. K.C. definitely has much more depth and fewer holes and better hitters.
